Charlie Clements made a memorable mark in EastEnders when he debuted as Bradley Branning in 2006. Born in Sidcup, Kent on 5 June 1987, this talented actor had quite the journey before and after his EastEnders stint.

Before gracing the iconic Albert Square, Charlie was a student, completing his A-levels in 2005 while working part-time at a Waitrose in Bromley.

His early acting career included a brief appearance on The Bill in 2005, where he portrayed the character of Adrian Bickman. This paved the way for his role as Bradley Branning, which commenced on 24 January 2006.

Charlie's portrayal of Bradley Branning became legendary as he starred in more than 900 episodes of the BBC One soap opera during his four-year tenure from 2006 to 2010.

Bradley's dramatic exit came in a live episode commemorating the show's 25th anniversary when he tragically fell to his death from the roof of the Queen Vic while being pursued by the police.

This groundbreaking episode captivated nearly 20 million viewers, marking EastEnders' first-ever live broadcast. Charlie received recognition for his work on the show, earning the Most Popular Newcomer award at the 2006 National Television Awards.

Following his dramatic departure from EastEnders, Charlie continued to make his mark in the world of entertainment. In 2011, he took on the role of David Filde in a touring production of The Haunting and also acted in Meredith Oakes's controversial play Faith at the Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton, London.

Two years later, at the age of 33, Charlie played Jake O'Reilly in Casualty, showcasing his versatility as an actor. In 2017, he appeared in the documentary Elizabeth and Her Enemies, portraying the Earl of Essex.

Off-screen, Charlie embarked on another significant chapter of his life. In 2018, he married his long-term girlfriend, Rebecca Clatworthy, and they now share three children.

Besides his acting prowess, Charlie has a keen eye for photography, frequently sharing snapshots of landscapes and nature on his Instagram page.

However, like many during the pandemic, Charlie faced the need to adapt. During the lockdowns, he temporarily put his acting career on hold to support his family.

He worked in a restaurant during the initial lockdown and later at a gardening centre during the second. Speaking on Loose Women, he emphasised his dedication to his family, stating: "Acting is my first love and career choice, but at the end of the day, I’m a jobbing actor. I've got bills to pay and a family to support like everyone else."

In 2022, Charlie was able to get back into acting, showcasing his talent by voicing a character in the video game A Plague Tale: Requiem. In 2021, he joined the cast of the world's longest-running play, Mousetrap.

More recently, Charlie appears to have redirected his passion toward golf. His Instagram posts often feature the driving range, and he recently revealed his plans to make golf his full-time job.
