Strictly Come Dancing professional Nancy Xu has broken her silence following Saturday night's live show, which left some of her fans concerned.<\/p>\n

Worried viewers took to social media after spotting what appeared to be blood on her neck after her Tango with celeb partner, Les Dennis, during the first live show.<\/p>\n

The 32 year old dancer chatted to host Tess Daly after her routine, but as she turned to the side, fans noticed what looked like blood on her jawline and neck. She was then spotted holding a tissue to her neck as she climbed the stairs to Claudia Winkleman \u2013 but appeared to be in high spirits. <\/p>\n

One fan commented on Twitter: "Hope Nancy is ok\u2026 that looks like an injury," whilst another panicked, added: "Nancy is bleeding! Poor Nancy!"<\/p>\n

The professional dancer has now broken her silence \u2013 but didn\u2019t reference her apparent injury.<\/p>\n

Sharing a picture of her and Les dancing to her Instagram, she said: \u201cThat's week one done. Hope we did bring a bit of smile on your face @bbcstrictly.\u201d<\/p>\n

One fan replied in the comments section: \u201cWhat happened to your neck, hope you are ok\u201d, while another said: \u201cHope your neck is okay after it was bleeding xx.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others praised her performance, saying: \u201cYour dance made me smile. Les was so determined and focused\u201d and: \u201cYou definitely did, so proud of you guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her Strictly co-star Karen Hauer also showed her appreciation as she sent a series of clapping emojis.<\/p>\n

Nancy\u2019s partner, presenter and comedian Les Dennis, donned a shirt and waistcoat for their tango to Don\u2019t You Want Me by the Human League to secure a score of 16.<\/p>\n

Judge Motsi Mabuse praised him for using the whole dancefloor and for his energy.<\/p>\n

While Craig Revel-Horwood noted that he seemed like his feet were \u201cstuck to the floor with Velcro\u201d, but added that he \u201cgave it a good go and that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, actor Nigel Harman topped the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard after closing out the first live show of 2023 with a dramatic paso doble.<\/p>\n

Dressed as a circus ringmaster, the former EastEnders star finished his fierce routine to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana by swirling a cape, landing him an impressive score of 32.<\/p>\n

Craig praised it as \u201cthe dance of the night\u201d while head judge Shirley Ballas hailed him as \u201cthe one to beat\u201d.<\/p>\n

Anton Du Beke noted how challenging it is to wait until the end of the show to perform as he said Nigel \u201cstole the night\u201d.<\/p>\n

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, Bad Education\u2019s Layton Williams, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach all came in joint second with a score of 29.<\/p>\n

Veteran broadcaster Angela Rippon, 78, showed off her famous flexibility during her dramatic cha cha by ending the routine to Get The Party Started by Dame Shirley Bassey with an impressive high kick, landing her a score of 28.<\/p>\n

Former tennis player Annabel Croft also scored 28 points with her cha cha performance to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel.<\/p>\n

Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon and her partner Carlos Gu secured a score of 23 with their dramatic tango to Prisoner by Miley Cyrus featuring Dua Lipa.<\/p>\n

Comedian Eddie Kadi and his partner Karen Hauer\u2019s quickstep and Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy and his partner Lauren Oakley\u2019s cha cha both secured 22 points.<\/p>\n

Paralympian Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystal scored 21 points for their elegant quickstep, with Ballas praising his frame.<\/p>\n

Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima and Waterloo Road\u2019s Adam Thomas and his partner Luba Mushtuk both received 19 points for their lively cha cha performances.<\/p>\n

Finally, Radio presenter Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez took home a score of 18 for their elegant waltz.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
