Ryan Stocks\u2019 (James Moore) girlfriend Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) met up with a lady called Sophie in Thursday\u2019s (September 21) episode of Emmerdale, which confirmed the reason she had been taking mysterious phone calls this week.<\/p>\n
Sophie, played by Martha Cope, is the adoptive mother of Oscar. We learnt during Sophie and Gail\u2019s conversation at the allotment that Oscar is Gail and Ryan\u2019s son, who was adopted when he was little.<\/p>\n

The newcomer confirmed that Oscar has a type of cancer and needs a stem cell transplant as part of his treatment. Sophie and Gail were being secretive during their meeting, aware they shouldn\u2019t be talking, but a desperate Sophie explained that she wants Gail to have a test to see if she could help Oscar.<\/p>\n

She also said that it would be best if Ryan had the test too, but Gail explained that she wasn\u2019t in contact with him \u2013 which we know, of course, is a huge lie.<\/p>\n
Back at the pub, Gail failed to tell Ryan what she had been up to, leaving us to wonder what story he\u2019s been told about his child.<\/p>\n
Gail doesn\u2019t strike us as the sinister type, but why is she keeping this massive secret from Ryan?<\/p>\n
Will she continue to meet up with Sophie in secret?<\/p>\n
And what will she do if she isn\u2019t a match for Oscar\u2019s transplant?<\/p>\n
