<\/p>\nLiam Payne\u2019s mum has said she\u2019s \u201cworried sick\u201d after the singer was rushed to hospital in Italy. <\/p>\n
The One Direction star is reported to have fallen ill during a holiday in Lake Como, with The Sun quoting a source as saying he was in "a bad way". <\/p>\n
It came days after Liam told fans that he had to postpone his upcoming tour of South America because of a "serious kidney infection".<\/p>\n

His mum Karen, 62, has now told the MailOnline that he\u2019s likely to be in hospital for a week and how \u201chelpless\u201d she feels.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
"We are all worried sick about it but we just have to get on,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s horrible \u2013 him being all the way over there. He\u2019s in Milan and it sounds like he\u2019ll be there for a week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel helpless."<\/p>\n
Karen was said to be emotional as she revealed it was difficult as there was nothing she could do amid the \u201chorrible situation\u201d and could just hope that Liam was in the best place possible.<\/p>\n

The Sun reported that Liam had been with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy at the picturesque lake town when he became ill.<\/p>\n
He was taken to A&E in an ambulance before being admitted.<\/p>\n
The Bedroom Floor singer postponed his tour in August, telling fans on Instagram: \u201cIt\u2019s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America.<\/p>\n
