She explained: “While everybody else in my community is on strike, I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work.<\/p>\n
“So I figured I’ll do this and I will donate my weekly salary… to just give back to them at a time where they can’t give back to themselves.”<\/p>\n
As for how her family reacted to the news, Jamie Lynn did not delve into her sister Britney but shared her kids’ excitement.<\/p>\n
Jamie Lynn is mom to five-year-old Ivey Joan and 15-year-old Maddie, telling GMA: “My 15-year-old actually was very motivated for me to do this, which was actually very surprising.<\/p>\n

What are you doing Mom?\u2019<\/p>\n “But she was like, \u2018Mom, you have to do it.’ She\u2019s an athlete so I think she wants to see me kind of push myself.<\/p>\n “Typically I’d be working on different ventures but I think it\u2019s just important that I have this opportunity.<\/p>\n “And if I get up there and even if I embarrass myself, I’m doing it for a good reason and hopefully giving back to the community that’s literally given back to me since I was a little girl.”<\/p>\n Jamie Lynn has had a very up-and-down relationship with her sister Britney over the years due to the singer’s conservatorship.<\/p>\n In 2008 Britney was involuntarily placed in a conservatorship with her father Jamie Spears, with it lasting until November 2021.<\/p>\n Jamie Lynn then released a memoir, Call Her Daddy in 2022, with Britney sharing her fury over the “betrayal”.<\/p>\n The pair seemed to have fixed their relationship in recent months, with Jamie Lynn telling Variety in July: “I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don\u2019t feel like there\u2019s anything else that I need to say.<\/p>\n “I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal.”<\/p>\n
