HOLLY Willoughby and Dermot O'Leary today paid tribute to This Morning star Matty Lock following his shock death at the weekend. <\/p>\n

Matty, who was just 19, first appeared on This Morning three years ago to talk about his hobby of collecting vacuum cleaners. <\/p>\n

Today Dermot, 50, and Holly, 42, opened the show with some touching words about him. <\/p>\n

Dermot said: "We've got some heartbreaking and horrible news to share with you this morning. <\/p>\n

"One of the This Morning family members, Matty Lock, passed away this weekend."<\/p>\n

Holly added: "He was a much loved member of This Morning family and never failed to bring joy to our studio, with an infectious passion for technology and gadgets, which was truly unique."<\/p>\n

Holly first paid tribute to Matty yesterday on social media. <\/p>\n

She wrote: "Everyone at This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matty Lock, aged just 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious.<\/p>\n

"His family came to the studio and they were so proud that he\u2019d turned a childhood hobby into a career."<\/p>\n

And Rylan Clark, who used to present on the daytime\u00a0ITV\u00a0show, commented: \u201cGod that\u2019s really sad. Sending love x\u201d<\/p>\n

Matty was a well loved member of the\u00a0Labour Party\u00a0in Sefton and Merseyside and was recently elected as a town councillor in Maghull. He was also a parish councillor in Lydiate.<\/p>\n
