Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty followed in Carrie Johnson’s footsteps to become Britain’s First Lady.<\/p>\n
And now, it seems, the multi-millionaire is succeeding Ms Johnson when it comes to fashion.<\/p>\n
Ms Murty, 42, appeared at the spousal programme at G20 in New Delhi today dressed in exactly the same frock as Ms Johnson wore last June for the same event in Germany – but in a different colour.<\/p>\n
Joining a host of Prime Minister’s wives in the Bavarian Alps as part of G7 last June Ms Johnson wore a blue version of a \u00a3295 frock by Manimekala.<\/p>\n
Ms Johnson, 34 – who passionately supports sustainable fashion – hired hers from clothing rental company mywardrobeHQ but it is not known if Ms Murty did the same.<\/p>\n

It says that it specialises in joyful textiles and that it’s colourful designs are for those who want to ‘stand out.’<\/p>\n
One fashion observer told MailOnline: ‘Either Akshata loves Carries style or nobody from her team noticed that her predecessor wore exactly the same dress a year ago’<\/p>\n
During her time in Number 10 Ms Johnson became known for her fondness for hiring her clothes.<\/p>\n
She even rented her wedding dress when she married former Prime Minister, now Daily Mail columnist Boris Johnson.<\/p>\n
She also hired her entire wardrobe when she hosted the spousal programme in Cornwall when Mr Johnson hosted G7 at Caribs Bay.<\/p>\n
Ms Murty, daughter of Indian billionaire Narayana Murthy, dressed up in channelled both her Indian roots with a traditional floor-length maxi skirt complemented with a crisp white shirt when she arrived in India for the occasion on Friday.<\/p>\n

She and the Prime Minister are staying at the five-star Shangri-La hotel during their stay in India.<\/p>\n
On Friday Ms Murty had spearheaded Britain\u2019s diplomatic charm offensive at the summit by playing football barefoot with children in the British Council\u2019s courtyard.<\/p>\n
She later went for a ‘date night’ with Mr Sunak.<\/p>\n
Ms Murty\u2019s father Narayana, who was recently ranked the sixth richest person in India with an estimated \u00a33.9billion fortune, built his family\u2019s wealth after founding his firm Infosys, worth around \u00a353billion.<\/p>\n
