Ruth Langsford has shared an update on her mystery illness after failing to appear on Loose Women this week.<\/p>\n
The 63-year-old presenter has been noticeably absent from the the ITV show throughout the week.<\/p>\n
During her time away, she humorously referred to a "lurgy" on social media as she sought various remedies to improve her condition.<\/p>\n

However, on Friday (September 1), Ruth disclosed that she had contracted a chest infection, resulting in a prescribed course of antibiotics to facilitate her recovery.<\/p>\n
Taking to her Instagram, the mum of one posted a brief video demonstrating a vaporiser in operation.<\/p>\n

Ruth wrote in the caption: "My 'lurgy' is actually a chest infection! So here I am on antibiotics and a steam vaporiser twice a day!"<\/p>\n
Shortly thereafter, she shared an image of a box containing lemon, ginger leaf, and manuka tea, with Langsford remarking, "I'm trying everything!"<\/p>\n
This announcement coincides with the presenter\u2019s ongoing updates to keep her fans informed about her illness, which began when she was unable to appear on Loose Women last Monday (August 28).<\/p>\n

In a separate Instagram post on Tuesday (August 27), Ruth shared a video of herself preparing yet again a concoction consisting of lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey, and a generous amount of whiskey, which she referred to as a "hot toddy."<\/p>\n
She captioned the post: "Got the Lurgy! So I\u2019ve made myself a hot toddy and I\u2019m going back to bed!<\/p>\n

"Lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey and a big splosh of Irish whiskey. Let\u2019s hope this does the trick\u2026.if nothing else it should help me sleep!"<\/p>\n
Two days afterward, Ruth made a follow-up post to explain that she was still experiencing fatigue and that she had prepared a "healthy soup" in an attempt to alleviate her discomfort.<\/p>\n
Adding all the ingredients to a saucepan, she wrote on Instagram: "Still got the lurgy! Got out of my sick bed to make myself some healthy soup though.<\/p>\n
