Two window washers injured after scaffolding ‘malfunction’ in Manhattan
Two window washers were injured Saturday when scaffolding “malfunctioned” at a super-tall skyscraper at Hudson Yards, authorities said.
The two workers, one believed to be in his 30s and the other in his 20s, were alive after falling between 10-20 feet to a 37th floor terrace at 30 Hudson Yards, a Fire Department spokesman said.
“Right now they are alive and breathing,” an NYPD spokeswoman said.
No further information was immediately available. The 73-story building opened last year.
The incident comes just over a year after a Nov. 11, 2019 scaffolding collapse at 50 Hudson Yards left four workers with minor injuries.
