Trump: Americans are finding family again during coronavirus lockdown
President Trump said one of the benefits of quarantining during the coronavirus outbreak is that families are rekindling their relationships.
“The people of this country have been incredible with social distancing,” he said Monday on “Fox & Friends,” on Fox News Channel. “I’m getting letters from people that have found family again.”
“They were doing all sorts of things and now they’re with family in their homes and they’re not going out. We’re actually getting a lot of letters, ‘we found our family again,’ ‘we found what life should be,’” Trump said.
At a White House news conference on Sunday, the president announced that he would extend social-distancing guidelines until April 30.
The original 15-day period was expected to end April 13.
“Nothing would be worse than declaring victory before the victory is won. That would be the greatest loss of all,” Trump said.
