Kelly Preston once said ‘love your kids like it could be your last moment’ before losing cancer battle aged 57 – The Sun

KELLY Preston once said "love your kids like it could be your last moment" before losing her cancer battle aged 57.

The actress, who died on Sunday, was mom to daughter Ella, 20, and son Ben, 9 and son Jett, who died in 2009 aged 16.

The couple suffered a shocking tragedy in 2009 when their eldest son Jett, 16, died after he had a seizure on a family vacation to the Bahamas at Christmas.

The couple took comfort in the Church of Scientology, which the star said had been "pivotal to his recovery" in the weeks and months afterwards.

While Kelly was posing for the cover of Health magazine in 2011 with then baby Ben, she said: "I've always wanted to be a mother, ever since I was 11."

"I absolutely adore my kids. Johnny and I look up to them constantly."

She also learned not to "sweat" about the small things and to "love your kids like it could be your last moment".

Kelly made her last Instagram post on June 22.

Sharing a smiling selfie of her and John, 66, with their kids Ella, 20, and Ben, nine, Kelly wrote: "Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you

While a second picture showed the couple's late son Jett, who died in 2009 aged 16, looking lovingly at his dad.

Fans were moved by the family pictures with one posting: "Picture number 2 can't be sweeter."

While another wrote: "I love those pictures. Thank you for including the beautiful second one as well always so special."

Actor John announced his wife's death on Instagram and paid tribute to her "courageous fight" as he revealed that she had battled the disease for two years, but chose to keep her illness private.

Kelly's death came 11 years after the couple's eldest son died after a seizure at the family's Bahamas holiday home.

Sharing the sad news, John wrote: "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.

"Kelly's love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while."

And the couple's daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, wrote on Instagram: "I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you.

"Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what.

"Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama."
