Danny was being treated at an intensive care ward in Hammersmith, but died in the early hours of Thursday morning.

In his final Facebook post on Tuesday, Danny, a secretary for Middlesex County Football League, wrote: "Looks nice out from the window wish I was participating in the Vitamin D.

"Finding hard to breath. Still fighting."

Two days previously on March 22, he wrote: "My life really sucks! Can’t believe I got the corona virus."

'BUBBLY, JOYFUL PERSON'

Danny is believed to have had underlying health conditions prior to testing positive for the virus.

Friends and wellwishers lined up to pay tribute to him on social media following his death.

One friend and ex-colleague wrote: "He was such a bubbly and joyful person and I cannot remember a time when he did not have a smile on his face ."

Another pal wrote: "Shared many good times together DJ rest in peace mate my heart goes out to your family at this sad time."

And another friend said: "Danny is the first person I know to have died from Covid-19.

"I’m guessing not many people from my friends list know of anyone who has lost the fight yet.

"Please please learn something from his passing – this thing is not to be messed with."

His death comes as the number of people who have died in the UK after contracting coronavirus hit 759, a jump of 181.

It is Britain's biggest death toll leap in 24 hours since the disease first struck at the end of January.
