Coleen Rooney wants access to Becky Vardy’s email, phone records and texts in bombshell High Court battle
COLEEN Rooney wants to access Becky Vardy’s email, phone records and texts as part of their explosive Wagatha Christie lawsuit.
She hopes to conduct a “forensic analysis” of her rival’s electronics in search of possible evidence to support her claims.
It comes after Becky filed a High Court libel action against Coleen for accusing her of leaking personal details about her to the Press.
A source said: “Coleen met with her lawyers and they’ve told her they need to continue putting together more evidence.
“She needs to prove that Becky was directly responsible for the leaks or, at the very least, that the information came from her social media account. Coleen is adamant she is right, but in a legal setting the evidence she has may not be enough to cross the threshold.”
Coleen’s team will need to get a court order to gain such access.
It is understood Coleen, 34 — wife of ex-England striker Wayne — has told her lawyers to plough on so she can have her day in court.
Lawyers for mum-of-five Becky, 38 — whose hubby is Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy, 33 — are currently preparing for a bombshell hearing later this year at London’s High Court which will shape any future libel trial.
Both parties will be asked to submit legal arguments in order to get the judge to fix the “meaning” of Coleen’s infamous social media message detailing her own probe into leaked false stories about her on Instagram.
Her post last October ended dramatically: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
All the stories that Coleen said were leaked were put to Coleen’s representatives for comment before they were printed in The Sun.
Becky denies being the source.
