Boy, 14, stabbed near Tesco Express in leafy Cheshire town as teen arrested

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been stabbed near a Tesco Express in a leafy Cheshire town.

The victim was found with a serious stab wound at around 9.30pm last night in Wilmslow, Cheshire's Golden Triangle popular with Premier League footballers and celebrities.

He was rushed to Manchester Children's Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition, according to police.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Cops have arrested another 14-year-old boy in connection with the incident.

Cheshire Police said the arrested youth was from Stockport and was currently in custody, being quizzed by detectives.

A police cordon has been placed around the scene on Dean Road Row.

A car park near to a Tesco Express had been taped off, according to an eye witness.

Cops have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Cameron Mair said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what has taken place.

“As part of our investigation we are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or anything else that may aid our investigation, to get in touch.

“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant to our investigation.”

Chief Inspector David Moores, head of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “This type of incident is extremely rare in the Wilmslow area and I understand the concern that it is likely to cause.

“I’d like to reassure the public that patrols are being stepped up in the area and anyone with any concerns should approach an officer.

“I would also urge anyone with any information in relation to the incident to get in touch.”

Wilmslow is one of the most expensive areas for property in Cheshire, according to Zoopla, forming the so-called Golden Triangle along with places such as Knutsford, Alderley Edge and Prestbury.
