Weaver, 74, will portray ruthless Market Equities CEO Caroline Warner in the upcoming season of Yellowstone. The acclaimed Western drama is finally returning to Paramount next week and will introduce the Duttons’ ruthless new rival, and fans can look out for the actress in an upcoming film starring Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Kiernan Shipka and The White Lotus’ Alexandra Daddarrio.
Yellowstone supporting star Weaver has joined the cast of an upcoming coming-of-age dark comedy, Wildflower.
The two-time Oscar-nominee has been announced alongside Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kannon Omachi, Brad Garrett, Victor Rasuk, Reid Scott, Erika Alexander and Chris Mulkey.
She will round out the supporting cast of the upcoming film from director Matt Smukler in his feature directorial debut with a script by Jana Savage.
The upcoming drama is loosely based on Smukler’s own family and will follow Bea Johnson from birth to graduation.
Bea balances her studies with a complicated family life as she takes care of a disabled parent and deals with her extended family who can’t agree on the best way to help.
Weaver joins the already announced cast of A-listers, headed by Mare of Easttown and Hacks’ favourite Jean Smart.
Smart picked up the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in Hacks.
She was also nominated for her dramatic role in the Kate Winslet-led crime drama on HBO.
Kiernan Shipka, Alexandra Daddario, Dash Mihok, Charlie Plummer and Samantha Hyde will also star.
The feature is not to be confused with Smukler’s recent documentary of the same name.
However, the documentary follows a similar story, as it details his niece Christina Stahl’s life taking care of her parents, both of whom sustained brain injuries.
Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker of Limelight will produce, with Jen Gorton and Jillian Share overseeing production for eOne.

In the meantime, Weaver’s next role is just around the corner after joining the cast of Yellowstone season four.
The upcoming premiere will air on Paramount next Sunday and pick up from last year’s terrifying finale.
Market Equities’ Caroline Warner swoops in during the next instalment following a shocking attack on John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and his family.
A new teaser trailer introducing Weaver’s character has established her as one of the most ruthless competitors the Yellowstone Ranch has ever faced.
The actress provides even more pedigree to Yellowstone’s already impressive cast, which features Costner, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley and Gil Birmingham.
Weaver was nominated for her supporting roles in the hit films Animal Kingdom and Silver Linings Playbook.
She most recently appeared in Netflix’s hit horror Bird Box, alongside Sandra Bullock, and will star with Ozark’s Tom Pelphrey in the upcoming true-crime film, American Murderer.
Yellowstone season 4 premieres Sunday, November 7 on Paramount.
