Gardeners’ World returned for another escapist episode on BBC Two this evening (June 25) and fans were ready to learn some useful tips for the summer.

Usually, the series is presented by the renowned gardener, Monty Don, but instead, tonight’s episode was fronted by Adam Frost.

Frost offered tips on laying turf and planting succulents, and he also showed viewers how to grow cut flowers from his kitchen.

Meanwhile, Joe Swift travelled to Marwood Hill Gardens in Devon to explore plants that thrive in moist conditions.

Fans were wondering why Monty was missing from tonight’s episode, and it seems he will be missing next week, too.

No reason has been given as to why Monty has taken a break from the gardening show. But he continues to post updates on Twitter.

Gardeners’ World Magazine tweeted: “Join us for an online talk with @TheMontyDon at 6pm, Mon 28 June. Monty will share tales of his gardening life & stories from behind the scenes at Longmeadow, closing with a Q&A.”
