Vernon Kay lined up to host brand new ITV prime time slot to replace Britain's Got Talent
VERNON Kay is lined up to host a new ITV Saturday night show to replace Britain’s Got Talent.
The move is his first major deal since coming third in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! last month.
Game Of Talents will see members of the public teaming up with celebrities to guess the hidden skills of mystery performers in return for cash prizes.
ITV is considering a seven-part series to replace BGT, cancelled yesterday amid Covid-19 safety concerns.
A source said: “Vernon may not have won I’m A Celeb but from day one he was the star of the show — likeable, warm and really down to earth.
“Vern hasn’t been on ITV primetime since Family Fortunes six years ago, so it feels like now is the perfect time to bring him back into the fold.”
Vernon, 46, wed to Strictly host Tess Daly, 51, also stands in for BBC Radio 2 host Rylan Clark-Neal next month.
Game Of Talents is the latest new format taken on by ITV from overseas, following the success of The Masked Singer.
The show is already a huge hit in Spain.
An ITV insider said no decision had been made on when it would air.
