Tiger King's Rick Kirkham believes Joe Exotic won't leave prison alive

Tiger King’s Rick Kirkham believes that Joe Exotic won’t leave prison alive and reckons that he’s jealous of other stars from the documentary getting airtime and opportunities.

The TV producer revealed his honest thoughts about the former zookeeper – who is currently serving 22-years behind bars for animal abuse charges and conspiring to kill Carole Baskin – in the new Netflix episode The Tiger King And I.

‘I don’t think Joe Exotic will leave prison alive,’ Rick told presenter Joel McHale.

‘I don’t think he’ll be able to stand it. Even if he got out with good behaviour in 10, 12 years, he won’t live that long.’

He continued: ‘I tell you what’s really eating him up is people like me, who are getting so much attention instead of him.

‘He’s not getting any of the money that is coming out, he doesn’t get any of the accolades, he doesn’t get any of the opportunities, he doesn’t get anything except three meals a day.’

Rick ended his interview by revealing that he regrets ever meeting Joe.

‘I saw the I zoo was sucked into the surreal world of Joe Exotic,’ he said. ‘I still have nightmares. I had nightmares last night. Since this docuseries has been back, I’ve had more nightmares about having lived in that park.’

Elsewhere in The Tiger King And I, former employee Erik Cowie admitted that he doesn’t think Joe should be a free man.

’22 years doing federal time – that guy’s gonna die in there. Good riddance,’ he told Joel.

The Tiger King And I is available to stream on Netflix.
