The real reason Eileen Davidson left RHOBH
Real Housewives come and go, for all sorts of reasons. In the case of Eileen Davidson leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, well, it seemed like her time had been coming for a while. Before becoming a reality TV star, Davidson starred on the legendary soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1993 to 1998, and then from 2012 to 2015, per IMDb. She also appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful from 2007 to 2008, as well as a handful of other movies and TV shows. She joined the Bravo scene in 2014, which means she was concurrently filming a soap and reality TV, which likely contributed to her I-don’t-have-time-for-this attitude on the show.
It’s not that Davidson never got her hands dirty on the RHOBH — the showdown between her and Kim Richards in Amsterdam after the infamous poker night of Season 5 will go down in Housewives history — but overall, Davidson was fairly low-key. Here’s the real reason Davidson left the reality TV wife life behind.
This is why Eileen Davidson really left RHOBH
Eileen Davidson wasn’t exactly a fan favorite on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so some viewers might assume she was fired from the hit reality show. Davidson was great and all, but let’s be honest: She didn’t have swans like Lisa Vanderpump; never stirred the pot like Lisa Rinna; and didn’t deal with a ton of family drama like the Richards. That said, it was Davidson who decided to leave the show of her own volition. Well, kind of.
In a 2018 interview, per Distractify, Davidson said producers wanted to bring her on the show in a “limited capacity,” but that wasn’t going to cut it for the soap star. “They actually asked me to take a step down, and I didn’t want to be involved with it,” Davidson said. “…It’s not something I would want to do in that caliber … and I never planned on doing it that long.” She said producers have asked her to come back for guest appearances a handful of times but she has declined. That was in 2018, though.
Eileen is billed as a “guest” in 2020, so she might make an appearance in Season 10 of RHOBH, per IMDb.
Lisa Vanderpump claims Eileen Davidson was fired
Though Eileen Davidson has made it seem like she quit The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, that hasn’t stopped Davidson and her former castmates from trading shots and stirring up drama.
On an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Davidson said RHOBH star Lisa Vanderpump should have sucked it up in Season 9 and stayed on the show. In fact, she said LVP leaving the show was a “p***y move.” Vanderpump did not take kindly to Davidson sharing her opinion and fired back on Twitter: “At least I resigned, you weren’t honest about the fact that you were fired…Now that’s a p***y move as you call it.” Davidson responded with a lipstick kiss emoji and a heart.
When it comes to the circumstances surrounding Davidson’s exit, it really all depends on if you think being demoted to a guest or a friend of the Housewives is just a nice way of saying thank you, next. In any case, Davidson is probably better off without the drama.
