The Chase viewers pointed out a musical commotion between the team of contestant during Tuesday's show.

Eagled-eyed viewers noticed that the names of all four hopefuls were characters from ABBA-inspired movie and musical Mamma Mia!

Donna, Samantha, Harry and Bill all took it in turns to take on the cash builder round and later went head-to-head with Paul Since in an intense round of general knowledge questions.

However, viewers were distracted from the show and rushed to their keyboards to discuss their shock discovery.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "The Chase having a Mamma Mia feel."

Another added: "Mamma Mia 3 came out earlier than I expected."

A third person posted: "The new Mamma Mia film looks different."

While a fourth viewer wrote: "Harry, Bill, Samantha (Sam) and Donna? I smell a Mamma Mia theme with the names."

"Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again," a fifth social media user joked.

Mamma Mia is a 2008 romantic comedy film containing music directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Catherine Johnson based on her book of the 1999 theatre show of the same name.

The film is based on the songs of pop group ABBA, with additional music composed by ABBA member Benny Andersson.

The plot follows a young bride-to-be who invites three men to her upcoming wedding, each one with the possibility of being her father.

Sophie's mother Donna Sheridan (Meryl Streep) is left gobsmacked when her three exes, Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgârd) and Harry Bright (Colin Firth) arrive at her Greek hotel.

A sequel, titled Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, was released on July 20, 2018 with most of the main cast returning.

It's not the first time The Chase fans have spotted a connection between the name of players.

In previous episodes, viewers have noticed the names of characters of Friends and Only Fools and Horses as well as the names of Spice Girls members,
