Spoilers: James and John Paul get back together in shock Hollyoaks twist?

James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) is determined to win back John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in Hollyoaks — something which will no doubt be easier said than done given what he did to Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) — but is there a possibility of a future for the pair as James confesses his love for the young man?

James had been struggling to come to terms with the death of Harry (Parry Glasspool) — and the grief of losing the love of his life caused him to behave irrationally, as he came to believe Mercedes was responsible for the young lad’s death, and therefore sought revenge.

Both he and Grace (Tamara Wall) left The Dog’s landlady for dead on the dancefloor of The Loft last October during the iconic ‘Who Shot Mercedes?’ storyline — something which John Paul discovered for himself earlier this year amid Liam’s (Jude Monk McGowan) reign of terror.

With he and James having embarked on something of a romance, John Paul was horrified that his beau tried to murder his sister, and therefore he called it quits on their relationship.

Earlier this week, James bumps into John Paul, and — before long — he reveals that he’s in love with him.

Things didn’t exactly transpire as James would’ve hoped, but in the coming episodes, John Paul arrives at the solicitor’s flat. James therefore reaffirms his feelings for the young man — revealing that he believes they belong together.

How will John Paul react?

Will he ever be able to forgive James for what he did to Mercedes?

What’s more, what will this mean for his interest in PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr)?

Is James the one he wants to be with, or will the policeman win his heart?
