Power may be over for good but it is instead being resurrected in the form of four spin-off series. Power Book IV: Force will tell the tale of thug Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) after he left New York to start a new life. But as fans of the Starz drama know all too well, trouble often follows wherever Tommy goes.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from the Power franchise.

Tommy was the right-hand man of James “Ghost” St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) and had been since they were at school together.

While Ghost was initially determined to go straight and get away from the drug business, Tommy wanted to keep his foot firmly in the door and so they continued their illicit work.

Their friendship was tested throughout and even resulted in Tommy killing Ghost’s love Angela Valdez (Lela Loren) when he found out the drug kingpin had tricked him into killing his own dad.

Nevertheless, when Ghost was murdered himself, Tommy sat with him in the street in his final few moments.

Tommy wasn’t able to stick around long after the death of Ghost and wanted to start afresh.

Power Book IV will see him move to Chicago where he will make friends with bar owner Gloria (Gabrielle Ryan).

However, the drama has already teased the start of a potential feud as an Irish crime family is eager to get their hands on her business.

Will Tommy step in to defend Gloria and is he going to carry on earning money through the drug trade?

How many episodes will be in Power Book 4?

Power Book IV is going to be following in the footsteps of the other spin-off shows.

Force season one will be made up of a total of 10 episodes, much like the first series of Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

So far, it’s unclear if Power Book II’s second series will also have 10 episodes but it seems most likely, given the rest of the franchise is following this pattern.

Sadly, a release date hasn’t been announced for Power Book IV on Starz.

There are talks of it premiering later this year or perhaps early 2022 if there are any further delays in filming.

But before Force can begin, it will be time for Power Book III’s time to shine.

The series will be the only prequel of the Power franchise and will highlight what happened in Kanan Stark’s (Curtis Jackson) childhood which made him into the violent drug dealer fans know him to be.

There is also the matter of Power Book II: Ghost season two which will also be coming out later this year.

He wanted to get revenge on Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) for trying to frame him for Ghost’s murder.

As he had already left New York by this point, it will be interesting to see how his journey back to the Big Apple is linked to Force.

The Power franchise is available to watch on Starz.
