Vanessa Lachey will lead the brand new cast of NCIS Hawaii as it airs on CBS. Ahead of the crime drama’s premiere on September 1, the actress shared an emotional speech while the show’s director Larry Teng unveiled the team’s HQ on Instagram.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the latest addition to the NCIS franchise, NCIS Hawaii.
Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennet (played by Vanessa Milano) will lead the team in Hawaii as the first woman to hold the position.
As well as solving military-related criminal investigations, the show will also highlight the challenges she faced as a woman climbing the ranks in a male-dominated profession.
It will also explore her personal life as a mother, raising children with her ex-husband.
While the show’s director Larry Teng was behind the camera and unveiled the HQ on his Instagram, actress Vanessa Lachey delivered an emotional speech to the room full of cast and crew.
She said: I want to dedicate this to you guys, we can stand here and be in this show and our dreams can come true because of every single one of you.
“I always want you to know that you can come to us, hug us, talk to us and ask us anything.
“My dream, our dream is alive because of you, thank you, everybody.”
Fans will see Jane run her team as a hardworking and diplomatic boss.
With many years of experience, she will be able to successfully navigate her way around a crime scene and inter-bureau politics with complete confidence.
As a mother and head of her NCIS team, it seems fair to assume that she may encounter some challenges juggling her personal and professional life.
Not much has been revealed about the plot however fans don’t have long to wait until the pilot episode airs.
As the first woman to in the position of Special Agent in Charge, viewers can be assured that they will hear about the hurdles Jane Tennent had to overcome to be in her role.
As side from that fans can also expect to see the team come together to tackle a range of exciting criminal investigations.
