Naga Munchetty snaps at Charlie Stayt as he ignores BBC co-host: ‘Wasn’t what I asked!’

There was plenty on the agenda for Charlie and Naga to get through this morning on BBC Breakfast, from a packed night of drama in the Carabao Cup and Europa League last night to a new interview with Health Secretary Matt Hancock. But with a mini-heatwave hitting the country earlier this week, the weather was too a hot topic as the BBC pair got the latest from weather reporter Sarah Keith-Lucas.

Sarah shared the latest weather news with Naga and Charlie live from RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey.

However, she also gave the BBC Breakfast duo an insight into some top gardening tips, with a number of viewers taking up the hobby amid lockdown.

With temperatures set to be optimal for a spot of gardening in the coming days, Sarah said: “It’s a fine weekend for getting out in your garden.”

As she cut back to the studio, Charlie couldn’t hide his admiration for the floral surroundings behind Sarah.

“Look forward to having a little look around there a little later on,” Charlie said as he examined the flowers behind Sarah.

Naga then became intrigued as to whether Charlie himself tried his hand at gardening after clocking his enthusiasm.

“Do you have green fingers?” Naga probed, prompting Charlie to reply: “Er, I like spending time in the garden.”

But Naga snapped back: “Well no, that wasn’t what I asked you.”

Charlie defended himself, however: “Is that the same thing? Sit down, a cup of tea, look at the garden, lovely.”

However, annoyed her a co-host had ignored her line of questioning, Naga tried again.
