Naga Munchetty in furious coronavirus clash with Matt Hancock: ‘Straight talking please’

Matt Hancock led his first coronavirus press conference yesterday since contracting the virus and self-isolating. Naga Munchetty kicked off the interview by sharing her concern for the Health Secretary before urging him to state clearly whether the testing targets he announced were a commitment rather than a goal. However, when Munchetty felt Hancock was evading the question, the BBC Breakfast host clashed with the Health Secretary and demanded he make himself clear to viewers.

Munchetty went on to clash with Hancock as he wouldn’t give her definitive answers to her questions.

She remarked: “I want to just take a look at your language that you are using, challenge, it’s a challenge.

“Yes it’s got to happen,” Hancock replied.

But Munchetty hit back: “No, this is going to happen.”
