He wore a black cap with a red rim, khaki T-Shirt, blue jeans and trainers – with a face mask offering protection during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Matt ditched the plastic as he carried a tote bag full of his purchases out of the store.

The star shot to fame in the '90s after landing the role of Joey Tribbiani in hit US sitcom Friends.

He and his co-stars were set to reunite for a one-off HBO Max special about the series earlier this year, but their plans were thwarted due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, last month it was revealed that filming will go ahead in August.

Co-creator Martha Kauffman told The Wrap at the time: "We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open.

"If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August."

Friends originally aired on NBC from September 1994 until May 2004 and consisted of 10 seasons and 236 episodes.

Matt starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – with all six agreeing to appear in the reunion.

After Friends, Matt landed a short-lived spin-off series called Joey, which followed his character trying to make it big as an actor in Hollywood.

He has also appeared in Episodes, and presented BBC series Top Gear between 2016 and 2019.

Matt's TV success has given him an estimated net worth of £61million, with the star admitting that his favourite thing to do is "nothing".

He said at the time: "Honestly, I’m the laziest person I know.

"My favourite thing in the world is to do nothing. I don’t like to work too hard."
