Linda Robson shared how her mum would poke fun at her weight change if they ever met up for a meal. The Loose Women panellist explained how she suffered a complex from her mother during a discussion on the ITV show about body image.
The Loose Women star told Kaye Adams, Dame Kelly Holmes and Judi Love how her mother would mercilessly mock her eating habits.
Despite the potentially serious nature of the comments, Linda explained they were light hearted.
She revealed: “My mum gave me a few complexes but she didn’t mean to, she was like Irish, old fashioned and that.”
Linda continued: “If I put on a bit of weight she’d go ‘Oh the salad bar’s over there.'”

“She used to go to me ‘Oh your face looked lovely on telly today, but your neck…’, [then Linda would say] ‘It’s the only one I’ve got mum!’.
“I’d start wearing scarves and used to wear them all the time to cut it [neck] up.
She added: “I’d then stand in the mirror and go ‘Oh it would look so nice.'”
To which Kaye Adams agreed: “We all do that, let’s be honest.”
Linda then summarised: “So yeah I find it really hard taking compliments.”
The rest of the panel also revealed their feelings on body image and the effect it’s had on their mental health.
This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes was a guest on the show and felt people ought to embrace compliments people receive.
Rochelle admitting she has learnt to receive kind words, adding: “I always get told by my friends to accept your blessings.”
The Loose Women stars also reflected on a wild night at the National Television Awards on Thursday night, despite not winning the top prize.
This Morning scooped the gong for best daytime TV show, at the expense of the long-running all-female programme.
Dame Kelly admitted she’d walked straight into a speaking engagement job that morning in the same clothes she wore to the awards show.
She admitted: “I blamed Loose Women and the NTA’s,” adding: “But it broke the ice.”
Recently, Linda opened up on more of her private life as the panel discussed their sex lives after turning 60 on Tuesday.
The actress said she’d never undressed in front of her husband, due to her Catholic upbringing.
She explained: “I find it quite difficult, I’ve never undressed in front of my husband so when I put my pyjamas on, I go in the bathroom.
“My kids have seen me undressed but not my husband or former partners because my mum was Irish Catholic.”
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub
