Little Mix team up with Anne-Marie for her new single after years of teasing they could work together

LITTLE MIX may have lost Jesy Nelson but now they have recruited another Essex girl to join them — Anne-Marie.

I can reveal that after years of talk about a potential collaboration, The Voice coach has finally nailed down a single with the trio for her forthcoming album.

Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards recently completed work on the song with Anne-Marie and are set to film a video for the track today.

The shoot is unlikely to be as energetic as their previous ones, given that Perrie and Leigh-Anne are both several months’ pregnant. My music insider said: “Anne-Marie and Little Mix have been pals for years and this collaboration has been a long time coming.

“They have spoken about doing something together for ages but the timing was never quite right and they never settled on a song. But they all seem to be really excited about this one because they said it was the perfect fit for them.

“They are keeping shtum about what sort of song it is, but having two of the biggest British female acts teaming up is a great thing for girl power.” The single is expected to be out next month ahead of Anne-Marie’s album, titled Therapy, which will be released on July 23.

That means it will follow a string of other high-profile collaborations for Anne-Marie, whose current single Our Song stars Niall Horan.

In the past year she has also teamed up with Nathan Dawe, KSI and Doja Cat on chart hits. But I imagine Jesy will be sad to miss out on the collaboration, having gushed about Anne-Marie last April when she called her their “fifth member” and said all five of them had a group chat.

She explained: “Anne-Marie — we absolutely love her. We’ve got a WhatsApp group with her, and we definitely, definitely want to work with her.

“If it happens, which fingers crossed it will, I think it will be one of our best collaborations.” With Jesy’s solo album due out this year, she may be on the blower to Anne-Marie to get her own tune with her before long.

BELL OF THE BOIL

BELLA Hadid may have ended up with some dodgy tan lines after strolling around New York in this outfit.

She wore a mask, bra top and knickers which rode high at her hips as the mercury there topped 30C.

With those scorching temperatures, I don’t know why she bothered with a tracksuit as well.

MARATHON AS MILLS HITS R2

HOPE Scott Mills is feeling chatty this week, because he is gearing up to spend more than 26 hours on BBC radio in the next six days.

In the biggest hint yet that he is eyeing a move to Radio 2 after 23 years at Radio 1, he is standing in for Ken Bruce on his popular mid-morning show on the station all week.

But as well as doing that, he will continue with his 1pm-3.30pm programme on Radio 1 from Monday to Thursday with co-host Chris Stark – and will present the Official Chart Show on Friday.

Then he and Chris will be back on the airwaves for his weekly 5 Live show at 9am on Saturday.

It is the first time anyone has done a full week’s worth of shows on both Radio 1 and Radio 2. In my eyes, Scott is one of the Beeb’s best broadcasters and he has so far resisted a move away from Radio 1 – even though at 47, he is almost two decades outside of the station’s 15-29 target audience.

A source said: “Scott feels young at heart and is hugely popular with the listeners so is still being embraced at Radio 1. But he also knows how quickly things can change and is taking every opportunity which comes his way.

“He would be a fool to turn down work and is flattered that he has interest from so many different stations.”

I’m just not sure how well the Radio 2 audience would take to his water-spitting Innuendo Bingo feature . . .

Olivia shows lads she’s Good

OLIVIA Rodrigo is continuing her remarkable transformation into a pop superstar as she prepares to top the singles chart for a third week with Good 4 U.

Her debut song Drivers License, released in January, spent nine weeks at No1 here.

Early figures yesterday showed Good 4 U has raced ahead and looks a dead cert to stay at in the top spot come Friday.

It is beating off competition from The Weeknd's Save Your Tears, currently at No2, while Calvin Harris and Tom Grennan's By Your Side is set to be the week’s highest new entry.

Olivia is really showing the boys how it’s done.

The big 40

NOUGHTIES pop music podcast Right Back At Ya recently hit its 40th episode, and hosts David Lim and Joel Babbington are celebrating by exploring the career of Steps in the latest instalment, which is out today.

Sigrid: I’m a high-energy Hulk when I’m on stage

SIGRID might be small in stature but she says being on stage makes her feel like The Hulk.

The Norwegian pop star, who has just released her new single Mirror, said: “I like safety but there is something inside of me that wants to f*** it all up. I think that’s the energy I bring on stage.

“When I played Glasto I had never had that experience before. I felt like the green Hulk. I was running around on stage and I had so much adrenaline and emotion.

“I take all those emotions out on stage and it’s the only time where I feel really cool.”

But Sigrid says she gets tearful when she’s writing her songs.

Speaking on the Art of Living Now podcast, she said: “I cry a lot in the studio and the people I work with start to cry because we are talking about deep stuff.

“You are vulnerable because you have to go there. For me that’s where I get the best stuff, when I dare to go down there.

“It’s an emotional rollercoaster.”

A7S’S HIT FROM THE WARDROBE

A7S had one of last year’s biggest hits with Breaking Me, and thankfully it has meant his life is a bit more glamorous now – after he and collaborator TOPIC had to record in a wardrobe.

The Swedish producer and singer, whose real name is Alexander Tidebrink, said: “On the day we came up with Breaking Me, we were in this flat and the acoustics were just terrible, so I decided to go into the wardrobe and sing in there.

“We made it into a makeshift vocal booth by grabbing blankets and pillows and filled it up to make the acoustics better.”

A7S, who released his latest single Nirvana on Friday, told me: “It was really surreal to sit in my apartment during lockdown and see the song become the fourth most played song on radio in the world and six on the global Spotify chart.

“I’ve not even been able to sing it or any of my songs live thanks to the pandemic – yet. Soon though, I hope.”
