Father Brown season 11 has been given the green light with a 10-episode season set to air on BBC One. Filming for the new season has already started with Mark Williams reprising his role as the title character. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about the new series.
The season 10 finale of Father Brown left fans desperate for more and actor Williams expressed his passion for the role.
Viewers will be pleased to hear the series has now been renewed for an 11th outing, with filming taking place in the Cotswolds.
Joining Williams once more is Lorna Watson, who will be returning as Sister Boniface.
The new season will also welcome an impressive list of guest stars including Doctor Who star Ingrid Oliver.
Other huge names include Game of Thrones star Ian Gelder and Murder in Provence’s John Light.
Former Doctor Who star Sylvester McCoy has also been cast in an exciting guest role.
Speaking about the renewal, Williams described it as “an honour to be returning for an 11th series of warmth, drama and humour, as well as sleuthing with my partners in crime solving”.
The show’s executive producer Neil Irvine was grateful for the warm reception and huge success of the 10th anniversary season.
He added he was “delighted” to begin filming series 11 of the hit crime drama.
He teased viewers can expect 10 episodes of “twists, turns and unpredictable whodunnits to keep them guessing”.
The new series is not expected to air until early 2024, so viewers will have quite a wait.
According to the BBC, the new run will begin in 1955 with Father Brown and Brenda (Ruby-May Martinwood) talking about chief inspector Sullivan (Tom Chambers).

They notice he and Mrs Devine (Claudie Blakley) have grown closer since viewers last saw them.
Some quirky cases featuring in the new season include “a food fayre to die for, a real-life crime at a crime writing festival and a village rivalry that turns deadly at the local Olimpicks”.
One episode, in particular, will see Father Brown and Sister Boniface caught up in a murder at an arts and crafts fair.
Another will follow Brenda as she faces ghosts from her past after her old friend Dr McClurgy (McCoy) gets in touch.
Meanwhile, Father Brown’s frenemy Flambeau (John Light) returns with his estranged father, Gabriel (Ian Gelder) and he has a dangerous mission in mind.
Season 10 averaged 2.3 million viewers making it the year’s biggest daytime drama to date for the BBC.
The series, which first aired in 2013, has gone on to become a global success, broadcasting in more than 232 territories around the world.
