Euphoria season two made its debut on HBO back in June 2019 and it was renewed a month later due to its success. Fans in the UK have been able to catch up on Sky and NOW, and they are eagerly awaiting the release of the latest instalment. has all you need to know about the second season and when it will air.

When is Euphoria season 2 coming out?

The teen drama follows a group of high schoolers as they navigate a world of sex, drugs, identity and trauma.

The second season is due to air on HBO on January 9, 2022, making for the perfect New Year treat.

As for those watching in the UK, they can tune in the following day, January 10, on Sky Atlantic.

New episodes will continue to air weekly in the same timeslot.

For those who do not have Sky, they can access the new episodes via the paid-for streaming service NOW.

Who is in the cast of Euphoria season 2?

There will be three new additions to the cast this year including Minka Kelly, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. and Dominic Fike.

Fans will also be welcoming back Spider-Man star Zendaya as Rue Bennett and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard.

Jacob Elordi is back as Nate Jacobs, with Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn and Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard.

Also returning is Angus Cloud as Fezco, Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez and Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez.

Zendaya is on Instagram and she shared the trailer for the new season saying: “It’s been a long time, but we’ll see you in January.”

Is there a trailer for Euphoria season 2?

Yes, HBO released a trailer for the second season on December 20 and it showed Rue entering a hall full of recovering drug addicts

A voice is heard saying: “This is not easy but I’m proud of each and every one of you for trying to take this on.

“Because there’s no future in addiction.” Rue is then seen recalling the moment she first met her love interest Jules (Schafer).

She says: “As soon as I saw her I was immediately afraid to lose her.”

Commenting on the trailer, fan Tan Jiee Yang said: “Everything about this show is just perfect. The plot, the music, the makeup, the cast everything. Literally my favourite tv show of all time.”

What will happen in Euphoria season 2?

The cast revealed some social issues from recent times may feature in the upcoming episodes.

COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement could be highlighted as actor Colman Domingo told Digital Spy.

The Ali star said: “I think possibly all of it because I know that he’s very interested.

“Sam is very astute and interested in the world, and letting the show hold a mirror up to society, and deconstruct it, and smash it over the head with a hammer, so I feel he would do all of it.

“I would say from the work that I’ve done on the show, it was already a show that was getting under the skin.

“I think it’s like a real sore wound now. I think it’s sore and it has puss and it’s a little ugly and it’s messy.

“But underneath all of that, it’s this painful, beating heart.

“And it just wants a hug. That’s what I think [season two] is.”

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement ahead of the second season.

New episodes of Euphoria will be released weekly from January 10 on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW, it will also air on HBO in the US on January 9.
