Viewers know Gabby has been doing her best to split up Leyla and Liam for weeks after growing closer to the wedding planner.

The teen framed Liam for sending Meena flowers in an attempt to destroy the couple and could hardly hide her joy when Leyla dumped Liam as a result.

Having cottoned on to Gabby’s odd behaviour, Liam warned her to keep her distance from his girlfriend last week.

But next week’s episodes of Emmerdale will see Liam see his words have gone in one ear and out the other when Gabby accepts the offer of a lunch date with Leyla.

Later, Leyla walks in and interrupts an argument between Liam and Gabby and is immediately suspicious.

Leyla asks to speak to Gabby in private, and asks her whether Liam has taken advantage of her.

Leyla is stunned when Gabby doesn’t deny the accusations and later rages at Liam, accusing him of taking advantage of Gabby.

Liam is lost for words at Leyla’s accusations.

Later, matters get worse for Gabby when a furious Leanne start hatching a plan for revenge against Gabby for slandering her dad.

It’s not long before she’s starting a smear campaign on Gabby.

Actor Jonny McPherson – who plays Liam in the ITV soap – has spoken out about his character’s “absolute devastation” following Gabby’s accusation.

The actor revealed to Digital Spy: "Liam is absolutely devastated. The idea of somebody that you love thinking you're capable of doing some inappropriate with someone who's 18, 19, and has effectively been a daughter, is so outrageously inappropriate.

"It goes beyond being angry or frustrated. He's absolutely devastated.

"It's the fundamental feeling of not being trusted. It's such a terrible thing to accuse somebody of, so it's very difficult to come back from."
