EastEnders’ Nancy Carter returning to square after five years away as Maddy Hill reprises role

EastEnders star Maddy Hill is returning to the soap as her character Nancy Carter.

Nancy is returning to Albert Square after five years away in New Zealand.

Actress Maddy, 30, is excited to be back on the BBC soap as she said: "I’m so excited to be coming back and reconnecting with all the hilarious, warm, talented cast and crew and meeting some lovely new faces.

"I absolutely loved playing Nancy and have often wondered what she’s up to, so feel very grateful to be able to rediscover her 5 years on!”

Maddy will begin filming this month and and her new scenes will air sometime in the spring.

Nancy is the daughter of Mick and Linda Carter, played by Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright.

On-screen, Nancy left Albert Square to start married life abroad with her husband Tamwar, played by Himesh Patel.


The soap's Executive Producer Jon Sen says: “We’re delighted to have Maddy back and I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s in store for Nancy.

"There’s a lot of mystery surrounding her return and she’s coming back to a family that have been through a very difficult year – things are definitely not as Nancy left them."

He gushed: "Maddy is a fantastic actor and we feel very lucky to have her back in Walford.”
