Dancing on Ices Rachel Stevens shares behind-the-scenes snap as training begins

Rachel Stevens shared a behind-the-scenes clip with her Instagram followers as she begins training for Dancing On Ice.

The former S Club 7 star took to her account on the social media site to tease fans with a quick video posted to her story.

Rachel, 43, uploaded the clip – showing her training gear on a chair as she excitedly teased her role.

The video showed a black hard hat and pads alongside a backpack with a label attached with her name written on balanced on the seat.

The excited singer captioned the post "got my kit" adding praising hands emojis to complete her upload.

Rachel was revealed as a contestant on the new series of Dancing On Ice last week and spoke about her excitement at the challenge on This Morning.

Talking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby Rachel said: “It now feels really real, this is really happening. I’m so excited, obviously really nervous. It's one of those things, until you do it you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Asked whether she had skated before she added: “Only with the penguin with my kids you know every Christmas.

"I did it when I was 10 (years old) and dabbled in it for a little bit and I really loved it but I’m very wobbly.”

Rachel admitted she agreed to take part in the show because it would also help her learn something new.

She said: “The opportunity came up and I thought what an amazing opportunity to learn a new skill.

"I love the whole idea of working with a team and your partner and also for my girls to be a part of this. They are at an age now where they love all the costumes.”

Other contestants confirmed to take part in this year's series include Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor, Happy Mondays dancer Bez, Paraympian Stef Reid, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, rugby star Ben Foden and Paul Gasoigne's son, Regan Gasoigne.

The launch date for the show is yet to be announced but is likely to be early in 2022.

Jane Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo will all return to the judging panel, but John Barrowman will not be back.
