Coronation Street fans were left disappointed by the latest plot twist after a random couple gave Summer Spellman a proposition involving her unborn child.
During Friday night's show, Billy Mayhew was having lunch with Summer, Aaron Sandford and new couple Esther and her husband Mike.
As Summer was unable to eat her food, it quickly came to light that Summer was pregnant.
Later on in the show, Esther and Mike approached Summer and told her about their struggles to conceive while offering the chance to take Summer's baby off her hands.
But as fans already predicted that this could be the case, many were left annoyed with storyline while also branding the newbies as "creepy".
Taking to Twitter, fans shared their thoughts.
One person wrote: "Anyone else finding this baby buying storyline creepy?!"
Another penned: "These #Corrie storylines are almost as bonkers as what's going on with our govt rn. Give me strength!"
A third said: "Absolutely despise the way Coronation Street portrays people who struggle to conceive as baby snatchers."
Meanwhile a fourth chimed: "Corrie this creepy couple wanting to 'buy' Summers baby us REALLY disturbing, if we're doing down a dark rabbit hole with this storyline I'm switching off!"
While others claimed they saw the storyline coming already, with one person writing: "Wow, such a coincidence – a pregnancy is revealed as a couple who can’t conceive are sat next to them. Oh please, such a forced storyline. We want to buy your baby story…"
