Coronation Street star reveals how 'fragile' Fiz reacts to Camilla's arrival
Fiz Stape’s (Jennie McAlpine) wedding preparation is about to get a whole lot more complicated in Coronation Street, as Phill Whittaker’s (Jamie Kenna) ex, Camilla (Louise Marwood) arrives.
Camilla’s arrival happens during the same moment Phill and Fiz are arguing over Mimi, who’s constantly interfering in the plans for the big day.
During the hen party, Camilla, Fiz and her pals decide to play a game of Mr and Mrs.
However, when it’s Camilla’s turn, it’s clear she knows Phill a lot better than Fiz, and later declares he’s still in love with her.
For Fiz, this is a difficult moment as of course, she’s been through so much in the last couple of years.
After Tyrone (Alan Halsall) slept with Alina, Fiz’s trust was broken – starting a relationship with someone new was very difficult for her.
And now, to have the ex of your fiancé arrive and declare the relationship is totally different to how Fiz sees it?! It’s something she absolutely doesn’t need just days before the wedding!
‘She’s dead fragile’, Jennie McAlpine recently told us.
‘When she met Phill and he asked her out, she thought, “why are you asking me out?”. And he’s told her he loves her, and wants to marry her and somewhere, at the back of her head, she’s thinking this cannot be real. When his successful ex-wife turns up, she’s thinking, “of course, he’ll go back to her instead of staying with me”. She thinks history will repeat itself and she’ll be left alone again.’
With Camilla planting doubts in her mind, Tyrone decides to tell Fiz that he still loves her!
Discussing her reaction to that moment, Jennie added: ‘It’s not a total shock to her, as he’s been making it totally obvious! It’s not a total shock, but the timing is pretty lousy. Despite this, Fiz still wants to marry Phill.’
