Brian ‘Brizz’ Gillis dead at 48: LFO singer is third member of 1990s boy band to die as tributes for star pour in | The Sun
A FOUNDING member of the 1990s boy band, LFO, has died, his former bandmate confirmed.
Brian "Brizz" Gillis died on Thursday at the age of 48, making him the third member of the group to die.
Former member Brad Fischetti announced the death on the LFO official Facebook page, however, he said he didn't know the circumstances of Gillis' death.
"My relationship with Brian was complex. It contained moments of great tribulation but also of great joy," Fischetti wrote.
"I learned a lot from him about the business of music and how to put together and rock a show. And it’s those positive aspects of our relationship that I will lean on now and forever."
Fischetti added that he "prayed for Brian every day for many years" and will continue to pray for him and his family.
"Special prayers for Pistol Pete and Terry Edwards; two men who hold a special place in my heart and undoubtedly held a special place in Brian’s heart."
Two other members of LFO have died over the years.
Rich Cronin died after a battle with leukemia in 2010 at age 36 and Devin Lima died from adrenal cancer in 2018 at 41 years old.
Gillis, Fischetti, and Cronin were the founding members of LFO, which stands for Lyte Funkie Ones, in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1995.

The group found small success with a remake of If I Can't Have You by Yvonne Elliman and a cover of the New Kids on the Block hit Step By Step in 1997.
However, Gillis would leave the group just two years later to focus on his solo career – he was replaced by Lima.
The group would release their smash hit Summer Girls in 1999 but eventually broke up in 2002, however, Fischetti and Lima united briefly in 2017.
"I know that soon or maybe already, Brizz will be greeted by Rich and Devin. And I hope that together, they will make some sweet sounds. I would really like that," Fischetti wrote.
