Around The World in 80 Days cast: Who stars in the BBC drama?

THE new BBC One Drama Around The World in 80 Days starring Doctor Who actor David Tennant is set to make an explosive start this boxing day.

David Tennant as Phileas Fogg

David John Tennant is a 50-year-old Scottish actor.

He made his first television appearance when he was 16, after his father sent some photos of him to a casting director at Scottish television. 

When he was 16 he auditioned for and won a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he was the youngest student to ever do so, and started as a full time drama student when he was 17.

When he was around three or four years of age, he decided to become an actor, inspired by his love of Doctor Who (1963).

In 2005, his childhood dream came true, and he is now best known for his role as the tenth incarnation of The Doctor in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who (2005–2010).

Ibrahim Koma as Passepartout 

Ibrahim Koma is a 34-year-old French actor.

He grew up in Paris and then moved to London to learn English and took classes at Birkbeck, University of London.

He has starred in films such as Asphalt Playground (2012), Wùlu (2016), and As Far as I Can Walk (2021). 

Leonie Benesch as Abigail Fix 

Leonie Benesch is a 30-year-old German actress.

She attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in England.

Leonie played one of the leading roles in the Golden Palm winning film, The White Ribbon.

She is also known for her performances The Crown (2016) and Babylon Berlin (2017).

Peter Sullivan as Nyle Bellamy 

Peter Sullivan is a 57-year-old English film and television actor born in Hertfordshire. 

In 1982, he joined the National Youth Theatre, where he played Edmond in King Lear, and then went on to join the Old Vic Youth Theatre playing the title role in Macbeth. 

He is best known for his appearances in films such as Conspiracy (2001), Hancock & Joan (2008), Sex Traffic (2004) and State of Play (2003). 

Anthony Flanagan as Thomas Kneedling 

Anthony Flanagan is a 49-year-old English actor.

He is best known for portrayal of policeman Tony in Channel 4's comedy-drama series Shameless.

He is also known for movies such as Red Riding: The Year of Our Lord 1974 (2009), Life on Mars (2006) and Doctor Who (2005).

In June 2011, he married his wife Rebekah Station and they have one child together.

Shivaani Ghai as Aouda 

Shivaani Ghai is a 46-year-old English actress. 

Ghai began her acting career in theatre before she moved on to television with minor parts in shows such as Doctors, Spooks and The Bill.

She is best known for Batwoman (2019), The Catch (2016) and Dominion (2014). 

In 2016 she married 24 Hours to Live actor Tyrone Keogh.
