Ant and Dec to host Saturday Night Takeaway live from separate homes as they self-isolate

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have cheered the nation up by announcing they will present Saturday Night Takeaway live from their separate homes tonight, 28 March.

The Geordie duo, who had to present the show without an audience last weekend, revealed the news on their Instagram page, where they shared a clip of themselves FaceTiming each other.

The video starts off with a simple title that reads "Isolation Conversations" before 44 year old Dec pops up onto the screen wearing a blue jumper as he says: "Hello?"

Ant, also 44, who can be seen wearing a simple black top as he sits on his grey couch, responds: "It's me!"

Dec then asks: "Great! What you doing?" As Ant says: "Not much, isolating. It's all the rage you know."

The presenters, who were recently labelled "heroes" for going ahead with their show, then speak about how weird it is not being in the studio to get the show ready for the weekend because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dec asks Ant: "What are you going to do Saturday at seven o'clock?"

His pal responds: "Well, I'm gonna be doing what the rest of the country's doing. Ordering a takeaway and watching Takeaway."

Then Ant miraculously comes up with a brilliant idea to to do the show from their houses seeing as they'll both be watching it on telly at the same time anyway, to which Dec immediately agrees to.

They captioned the hilarious exchange: "That’s settled then.. this week we’ll be doing @itvtakeaway on the telly… from both our houses! (Suits for you at home are optional!) #SaturdayNightTakeaway #TogetherAtHome #StayHome".

Fans were overjoyed by the news as one person commented underneath: "Thank god we have you guys on Saturday night to cheer up the nation."

Another said: "really you are!!! Omg this makes me sooo happy! Cannot wait!!!!!" [sic]

A third chimed: "Love seeing you both, and thank you for taking the time to make us smile with some Instagram content! Looking forward to the show tomorrow!!" [sic]

While a fourth added: "Always brighten things up you two, I haven’t laughed properly for like 2 days but youse did it as always, cheers boys! Stay safe @antanddec," [sic] alongside a red heart emoji.
