A 'Home Improvement' Star Was Just Accused of Assaulting His Girlfriend
Former child star, Zachery Ty Bryan, faces a litany of criminal charges in connection to an Oct. 17 incident in Eugene, Oregon. Bryan, who is best known for his portrayal of Brad Taylor on Home Improvement, was arrested after an alleged domestic violence incident just a few short weeks after taking to social media to announce the end of his 13-year marriage.

Bryan was taken into custody in Eugene, Oregon, in the early morning hours of Oct. 17. According to Us Magazine, police located the former child star sitting outside of his apartment building after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance from a neighbor. They later found his alleged victim inside a different apartment unit.
Bryan was taken into custody after his alleged victim told police he had tried to strangle her and take her phone to prevent her from calling the authorities. The identity of his alleged victim has not been released. Early reports, however, indicate she had a romantic relationship with Bryan at the time of the incident. Bryan faces multiple charges, including assault in the fourth degree.

Bryan’s arrest came just weeks after he announced his separation from his wife. Bryan married Carly Matros in 2007. The pair met while they were still in high school. They share four children. First, Matros and Bryan welcomed twins, Gemma Rae and Taylor Simone, in 2014. Two years later, they announced the arrival of their third daughter, Jordana. The couple’s only son, Pierce, was born in 2019.
Matros, according to The Sun, is a real estate agent in Laguna Beach, California. She is not believed to have been the victim of the alleged assault. She has not commented on the incident. According to TMZ, Bryan is still in police custody.
What has Bryan been doing since leaving Home Improvement
Bryan rose to fame in the 1990s while working alongside Tim Allen on Home Improvement. He portrayed Tim and Jill Taylor’s oldest son for all eight seasons of the show. After the series ended in 1999, Bryan pursued acting as an adult but eventually ended up working behind the camera.
He has worked as an executive producer on several indie films and has three upcoming producer credits. Finding 52, a documentary about an unknown whale with an unusual call, is currently in post-production. The documentary doesn’t have an announced release date.
