'Ozark' Fans Think The Women of the Series Are Terrifying

TV drama series have brought us some truly harrowing villains over the years. From Game of Thrones‘ Prince Joffrey to The Walking Dead‘s Negan, we’ve seen cold-blooded killers and charismatic manipulators who can make ice run up and down our spines. Fans of the dark series Ozark have been thinking about which of the show’s characters most terrifies them, and they’ve come to the overwhelming consensus that the series’ women are horrifying.

The murderous rage runs deep, and the women of the series pull it off with frightening skill and often no regrets.

Spoilers ahead.

Ozark follows a twisted web of crime

Ozark centers around the Byrdes, a seemingly ordinary family of four whose lives are upended when the patriarch’s day job gets a little more complex than he had bargained for. Marty (played by Jason Bateman) is a Chicago financial adviser who has actually been laundering money for a Mexican drug cartel. When things go awry, he gets sent to rural Missouri to set up a new operation, and he takes his wife, Wendy (portrayed by Laura Linney), and their kids, Charlotte and Jonah, with him.

What happens over the next three seasons is a whirlwind of murder, subterfuge, and chaos. Amidst this bizarre and dark backdrop of killings and terror, the Byrde family finds themselves coming together in unanticipated — and sometimes downright heartwarming — ways. It’s a fascinating mix of dark criminality and human closeness, and audiences are enthralled. The critically-acclaimed show is expected to return for a fourth season, and fans can’t wait to see what happens next.

The women on the show are particularly terrifying

RELATED: ‘Ozark’: Lisa Emery Reveals What It’s Like to Be Recognized as Darlene Snell on the Street

While there is no shortage of brutal and conniving characters on the show and just about everyone has their morality put to the test in one way or another, the women characters stand out as particularly terrifying. On many occasions, they have shown themselves to be willing to cross every line to protect their families and their own interests. Wendy, Marty’s wife, shows an alarming penchant for her new life of crime with some fans drawing comparison to TV’s iconic anti-hero Walter White.

Darlene (played by Lisa Emery) poisons her husband’s coffee when she realizes that he’s a threat to her. Talking about the work of playing such a twisted character, Emery explains that she still believes in Darlene despite her crimes: “She has to have some kind of really strong convictions about what’s been done to the Snell family. I think she’s twisted but I think I have to believe in her. For me, it’s a joy to play that side of somebody, that scary stuff. It’s because you get to throw it all out there.”

Ruth quickly demonstrated herself to be brutally cutthroat when it came to protecting her interest in the money-laundering scheme, but her loose ends also proved to be a liability. At the end of Season 3, her standing with the Byrdes is in question and someone may need to take her place. She’s unlikely to go quietly, though — especially with all she’s done up to this point.

Fans cannot decide which character is the scariest

In a Twitter thread discussing the topic of Ozark’s frightening women, fans were quick to admit that they were all terrifying, but it was hard to come to an agreement about just who was the scariest. Darlene was mentioned most often with fans noting that she is particularly vicious. “The devil looks up to Darlene,” one wrote. Another noted that Darlene is “easily the scariest woman [I] have ever seen in my life. [E]asily.”

However, Ruth was a strong contender. Many mentioned that not only was Ruth terrifying and — pardon the pun — ruthless, but she also had a way of charming viewers into staying on her side despite her terrible deeds. Perhaps that ability to keep people enchanted is a kind of terror all its own. Whatever the case, there’s no shortage of horrifying women to watch, and the next season promises to bring even more jaw-dropping drama.

Coronation Street fans rejoice as Alya kicks evil Geoff out of his house after changing locks to get justice for Yasmeen – The Sun

CORONATION Street fans rejoiced this evening as Alya kicked evil Geoff out of his house after changing the locks.

Geoff was discharged from hospital after wife Yasmeen attacked him in self defence, and had insisted to son Tim that he wanted to get back to his own home instead of staying with him and Sally.

However, he was caught off-guard when he couldn't open his front door – with Alya and her boyfriend Ryan appearing at the window and saying that as the house also belongs to her grandma, she has every right to stay there.

She also said that she wouldn't let Geoff return unless he confessed to abusing Yasmeen and saved her from prison.

Geoff protested his innocence, with Yasmeen also refusing to admit that he had been controlling and tormenting her behind closed doors.

However, fans were thrilled to see Alya wipe Geoff's smile from his face – with others hoping that she will end up discovering Geoff's hidden cameras to prove that he is guilty.

One wrote: "Alya is coming close to LEGEND status at this point".

Another added: "Alya has changed the locks! You go girl!"

A third shared: "When will Alya discover the hidden cameras that Geoff spied on Yasmeen with??"

Fans of Corrie have been left heartbroken by the soap’s huge coercive control storyline that saw evil Geoff torment his wife, isolate her from her loved ones and chip away at her self-esteem for over a year.

In one particularly harrowing scene, Geoff cooked Yasmeen’s beloved pet chicken Charlotte and fed it to her before revealing the animal’s identity.

The abuse came to an explosive head at the beginning of this month with a special episode focusing entirely on Yasmeen and Geoff’s relationship.

The storyline came to a head as Geoff threatened his wife with a knife, forcing the terrified character to defend herself with a glass bottle that broke and slashed his neck.

She watched on in terror as he collapsed bleeding to the floor, before calling the operator and admitting she’d killed her husband – unaware that he had actually survived.

Viewers were left fuming when Yasmeen was then arrested for the attempted murder of her husband and refused bail.

Why Lady Gaga Fans Think Her Song ‘Fun Tonight’ Drags Ex Christian Carino

Her muse? Lady Gaga fans are convinced that one of the songs on her new album, Chromatica, was inspired by her relationship with ex-fiancé Christian Carino.

In the second verse of “Fun Tonight,” the Grammy winner, 34, sings, “You love the paparazzi, love the fame / Even though you know it causes me pain / I feel like I’m in a prison hell / Stick my hands through the steel bars and yell / What happens now? I’m not OK / And if I scream, you walk away / When I’m sad, you just wanna play / I’ve had enough, why do I stay?”

Gaga told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe ahead of the album’s release on Friday, May 29, that the track “means a lot” to her, explaining, “For so many nights, people I love would try to come up to me and try to make me smile or laugh, but I just couldn’t. I had no ability to be happy.”

After Little Monsters heard the song in full, many of them flocked to Twitter to speculate that it is about the talent agent, to whom the A Star Is Born actress was engaged from 2017 to 2019.

“Fun tonight drags carino so hard OMFG SHE SNAPPED,” one fan tweeted. Another wrote, “Can we talk about how hard gaga dragged carino in fun tonight.”

A third Twitter user noted that Gaga has a tendency to “be a little cryptic with her relationship references” in her music, but wrote that they “agree that Fun Tonight is about Carino.”

The former couple’s romance first made headlines in February 2017 ahead of the pop star’s halftime performance at Super Bowl LI. Us Weekly broke the news of their engagement that summer, although Gaga did not publicly call Carino her “fiancé” until October 2018. Five months later, however, Us confirmed that they had called it quits.

“Chris didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their relationship,” a source told Us exclusively at the time.

A second insider revealed that the “Bad Romance” singer “was the one who broke things off,” adding, “He was jealous. He was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. Her friends didn’t like him either.”

In April 2019, a third source told Us exclusively that Gaga had “been hounded by Christian” and “told him not to contact her” anymore. However, they started talking again as friends later that year.

The Oscar winner is currently dating Parker Group CEO Michael Polansky.

BTS: Fans Already Know Whatever 'Still With You' Is for BTS FESTA Will Be Emotional

Every year, BTS puts on BTS FESTA, an event where the group celebrates their debut and their fans, ARMY. On May 27, the group released a short video teaser for 2020 BTS FESTA. Then on May 28, BTS released an official schedule of the festivities fans can expect from the upcoming BTS FESTA. One of those is titled “Still With You,” and based on the title alone BTS fans already know it will be emotional.

The group puts on BTS FESTA every year

BTS FESTA first began in 2014, and it takes place over the course of two weeks in June to coincide with the anniversary of BTS’s debut date, June 13, 2013. Each year, fans are treated to new Bangtan content like exclusive photos, special music videos, new songs, and more.

On May 27, BTS posted a video teaser for the annual celebration with the caption, “The New Journey to #2020BTSFESTA.” The video teaser incorporated “Epilogue: Young Forever” from BTS’s 2016 album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.

In 2019, fans surprised the group by singing the song at one of their Wembley Stadium tour stops for their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour. It was an emotional moment between BTS and ARMY, and the inclusion of the song in the teaser video hints that this year’s FESTA will be more emotional than past years.

BTS released a schedule for this year’s FESTA

On May 28, the group posted the official schedule of the 2020 BTS FESTA events. 2020 BTS FESTA will begin on June 1 with an opening ceremony. Over the next few days, there will be an official “Family Portrait,” exclusive photos, and a new choreography video.

While fans have come to expect some of the events because they occur every year, other events on the schedule are brand new. On June 5, there is an event called “Still With You.” While there is no way to know for sure, this is most likely a new song. Last year for FESTA, Jin released his stirring song “Tonight,” touching the hearts of ARMY around the world.

On June 11, the band will release “Map of the Song: 7.” The schedule does let fans know that this is a video release, but fans do not know if it is for a song from Map of the Soul: 7 or something new. The next day on May 12, BTS will do something for “We Are Bulletproof : the Eternal,” one of the most emotional songs from their album Map of the Soul: 7.

Fans already know ‘Still With You’ will be emotional

Based on the inclusion of “Epilogue: Young Forever,” the fact BTS will include “We Are Bulletproof : the Eternal,” and the title of “Still With You,” fans know that this year’s FESTA will be intense. While fans do not know what it is yet, “Still With You” seems to match the emotional tone of this year’s event.

“‘Still with you’ This is gonna be so memorable and heart touching. Coz despite of this pandemic, still we are able to connect with BTS and we are able to continue to make a good memories with them I just imagine, this is gonna be so overwhelming @BTS_twt,” tweeted a fan.

“‘Still With You’ why does it sounds so emotional to me. After all these years. You’re still with us, and we’re still with you. @BTS_twt,” wrote a Twitter user.

Why ‘Siren’ Fans Shouldn’t Be Too Worried About A Renewal Despite Low Ratings

Though Freeform has yet to renew Siren for Season 4, there’s reason to be hopeful that the show will be back. Yes, it’s experienced a significant drop in ratings — Season 3 is down 13% in viewership from Season 2, according to TV Series Finale — but it remains Freeform’s highest-rated original series. That puts it above shows like grown-ish and Good Trouble, both of which have already been renewed.

The network also seems to have a lot of faith in Siren, which is one of the few shows to feature a polyamorous relationship between its lead characters. When Siren was renewed for a third season in May 2019, network president Tom Ascheim told reporters that Freeform "is built on one very powerful belief: that embracing the disruptive voices and diverse identities of our viewers is key to our ongoing success," per Variety. It’s clear Freeform thinks Siren embodies that belief.

On top of that, many new pilots haven’t been able to film due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which means networks are renewing more shows than they would normally, Deadline reports. It makes more sense to greenlight something that already has audience, regardless of where the ratings are, than to take a chance on a new series without having seen the pilot.

Altogether, this makes it likely that Siren will return — it’s just a matter of time until Freeform makes it official.

Fans Couldn't Get Enough of Tim Allen and Jay Leno's Burnout Challenge

Two of today’s best-known comedians are both nuts about cars. Jay Leno and Tim Allen have a long history of talking cars whenever they get together, and Leno recently visited Allen’s personal garage for his show Jay Leno’s Garage. While things started off nicely, the duo began reminiscing about a burnout challenge they did back in 1995. Since Allen won that time around, Leno wanted another chance to win.

Jay Leno’s Garage is a car lover’s dream show

RELATED: How Much Is Jay Leno’s Car Collection Really Worth?

First starting as a web series for NBC.com, then later picked up by CNBC, Jay Leno’s Garage features cars from Leno’s own personal collection of vehicles, as well as cars owned by other celebrities that Leno visits and interviews on the show. Leno began shooting the series just a few months after ending his tenure as host of The Tonight Show in 2014.

Jay Leno’s Garage has surprised many with guest appearances by celebrities that people may not have known were into cars. In season three, Leno visited President George W. Bush’s ranch, where they discussed pickup trucks, according to IMDb. Actor Chris Evans appeared in season four to show off his 1967 Camaro. Leno talked Corvettes with Caitlyn and Kendall Jenner in 2016, and Ferraris with rock legend Sammy Hagar. Clearly, Leno made plenty of connections in his Tonight Show days.

Tim Allen and Jay Leno got wrapped up in a burnout challenge

RELATED: How Does Jay Leno Decide Which Cars to Buy for His Obsession?

In a February episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Leno visited Allen’s personal car collection. Although the two comedians have been friends for years, Leno stated that this was the first time he had been to Allen’s garage. The two walk around to different cool cars in Allen’s collection, including a 1965 Shelby Cobra worth about $1.8 million, a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air that Allen says is one of his favorite cars ever, and a 1966 Ford Mustang GT 350H that Leno can’t help but admire.

The two then discuss an episode of The Tonight Show from 1995, when Leno challenged Allen to see who could do a burnout the longest. Allen won back then, and Leno challenges him to a rematch — this time in cars of equal power.

Leno and Allen each get behind the wheel of a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. What happens next is less of a competition and more like two guys just having fun doing burnouts in muscle cars. Allen and Leno take off in their cars and drive circles around each other, burning out their tires the whole time, never getting around to declaring a winner. The segment ends when police cars pull up and “arrest” the two actors for causing so much ruckus.

Fans loved their chemistry

The YouTube comments section couldn’t get enough of Allen and Leno talking cars together. Many people pointed out that they would make fantastic hosts of the famous car show Top Gear and multiple people thought that if they had hosted Top Gear USA, the show would be even better. One user declared, “They need a show together. Anything with cars in it.” We can’t help but agree.

Fans loved the way they each bounced jokes off of each other, never taking things too seriously. During the burnout challenge, Allen wore a helmet that said “Jay sucks” and Leno wore one that said “Tim sucks.” A show with these two car lovers would be hilarious, and this episode is proof of that. The Twitter account for Jay Leno’s Garage recently shared that more from Allen and Leno would be coming our way soon, and we can’t wait to see what other challenges they get into.

Joel Dommett tricks fans into thinking he’s cheated on his wife Hannah in hilarious hair campaign video – The Sun

JOEL Dommett has tricked fans into thinking he's cheated on his wife Hannah Cooper in a hilarious video for a new campaign.

The comedian, 34, is full of emotion in the 60-second clip as he says he's “let someone down that’s really…really close to me”.

Looking teary-eyed and rubbing his face with his hands, he adds he “wants them to know how much they truly mean to me”.

But fans of the popular pairing need not worry – as the video is actually a spoof.

Joel has in fact cheated on his barber by asking Hannah to give him a trim at home – and it all went horribly wrong.

He's now encouraging people to put down their clippers in lockdown and wait until they can visit their barber to get a proper cut.

The video ends with Joel turning his head to reveal Hannah's bodged attempt with the clippers.

Joel and Hannah hit it off after the model sent him a message on Instagram back in 2016.

They tied the knot last September in a blissful ceremony held in Mykonos, Greece.

In a further post Joel explained he was launching Long for Barbers, which comes from leading hair care brand VO5.

As part of the pledge, VO5 is asking people to donate what they can to The Lions Barber Collective, which trains local barbers to spot signs of mental ill health in customers and direct them to a resource that will help them.

Joel said: “I just felt so guilty for my betrayal. I had to find a way to make it up not just to my own barber; but local barbers across the UK.”

He added:  “Donations to Long for Barbers will be used to train barbers to make their chair a safe space for men to have conversations. So while you impatiently wait to get back in one, grow your hair and donate what you can.”

VO5 is kicking off pledges with a £10,000 donation to The Lions Barber Collective, and is asking men to pledge to go long and donate what they can to the campaign.

Founded in September 2015, on the belief that the barbershop is a great, safe place for men to talk, The Lions Barber Collective trains barbers to use the time spent talking to clients as an opportunity to spot signs of mental distress.

Founder Tom Chapman said: “With the donation from VO5 alone we can train just over 65 hair pros with a potential reach of over 32,000 people each week.

"The idea is not to make barbers into counsellors or psychiatrists, but to enable them to bridge the gap between the communities we serve and the resources that are available, while providing a safe non-judgemental safe space to share, open up and or offload."

Avoid the embarrassment of a dodgy lid and join VO5 and Joel in pledging to Long for Barbers and donate by visiting www.thelionsbarbercollective.com/long-for-barbers/

Killing Eve fans 'tear up' as Eve and Villanelle ALMOST reunite

Killing Eve fans ‘tear up’ as Eve and Villanelle come seconds from being reunited in a tense train station scene – and beg for the pair to finally be brought together in next week’s finale

  •  SPOILER: Villanelle hit Dasha around the head with golf club in Aberdeen
  • Assassin watched Konstantin have a heart attack before boarding the train
  • As train pulled away, she clocked eyes with Eve and pair waved each other off

Viewers were left with ‘tears in their eyes’ after Villanelle and Eve were moments from being reunited before the train pulled away in Killing Eve – and they had to wave goodbye instead.

During the latest jam-packed episode on iPlayer, Dasha, (Harriet Walter), was hit around the head with a golf club by Villanelle (Jodie Comer), while Konstantin, (Kim Bodnia), suffered a heart attack on the platform at the train station.

But despite all of the drama and violence, it was the emotional ending which really seemed to grabbed the attention of viewers – as fans urged for Eve and Villanelle to finally be brought together in next week’s finale.

‘There were literal tears in my eyes for that one second when Villanelle and Eve (Sandra Oh) looked at each other at the train station,’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘They better give us one more kiss JUST A KISS PLEASE can villaneve just SMOOCH and THEN save the world please…’

In the most recent episode of Killing Eve, viewers were left emotional when Eve and Villanelle just missed each other at the train station, and were forced to wave goodbye to each other instead (pictured)

After realising she had just missed Eve, Villanelle (pictured) left her a voice message and said: ‘We have to stop running into each other like that’

Many who tuned in were quick to take to Twitter, with one joking: ‘When Eve asked Konstantin ‘where is SHE?’ And he turns toward Villanelle in the train, it was like he finally gave in and said ‘okay okay you guys should just be together! I approve now!’ (pictured)

During the latest episode of Killing Eve, Dasha watched as Villanelle, dressed in a furry green cropped coat, raised her golf club ready to his an unsuspecting man over the head.

However, after deciding to change her target minute, Dasha could be seen falling to the floor, before having her chest trodden on by the evil assassin, while the man hurried off.

Horrified at what he’d just witnessed, he bumped into Eve, who was hot on Villanelle’s tracks, and informed her of the ‘crazy woman’s’ whereabouts.

After Konstantin picked up Villanelle to make her great escape, the pair were moments away from boarding a train when Konstantin fell to the floor clutching his chest.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer penned: ‘Eve’s smirk in the end…she is SO excited to see her girlfriend’ (pictured)

‘I don’t want you to die,’ Villanelle said, as she watched him have a heart attack.

However, she also wasn’t happy for his money to go to waste either and after grabbing a receipt from his pocket, she rushed to make the train on time – but missed Eve, who was seconds too late.

And by the time the pair realised they were in touching distance of one another, the train departed the platform and the duo were left with no choice other than to wave each other off instead.

‘We have to stop running into each other like that,’ Villanelle said, leaving Eve a voice message.

Commenting on the drama, one viewer penned: ‘Eve is past the point of her obsession with Villanelle that she’s willing to do anything just to get to her as seen with how she literally left a DYING man to chase after v on a moving train.’

A second added: ‘When Eve asked Konstantin ‘where is SHE?’ And he turns toward Villanelle in the train, it was like he finally gave in and said ‘okay okay you guys should just be together! I approve now!’ while a third pleaded:

‘Yeah, Villanelle. You’re right. You should stop running into each other and just MEET UP. #KillingEve.’

Elsewhere in the episode, Villanelle hit Dasha, played by Harriet Walter, around the head with a golf club (pictured)

Others took to social media to comment on the excitement of the drama, with one writing: ‘This Dasha x Eve scene…oh my god’

English football fans 'could be back inside stadiums by October'

English football fans ‘could be back inside stadiums by October’ as lower league clubs hope to fill 25 per cent of their stadiums in bid to raise cash

  • Lower league clubs are said to be hopeful of allowing in small crowds in October
  • The coronavirus pandemic has prevented clubs from earning matchday revenue
  • Reports claim that discussions have taken place capping crowds at 25 per cent
  • The push for the proposals is said to be mainly coming from clubs in the EFL
  • Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19

A number of clubs struggling financially in England are reportedly hopeful of allowing small crowds to attend their games as early as October.

The coronavirus pandemic called an early halt to the campaign – with lower-league teams taking the hardest blow due to the lack of matchday income.

But according to The Sun, discussions between safety officers and Covid-19 officials focused on allowing in crowds capped at 25 per cent may hand clubs a much-needed lifeline.

Lower league clubs in England hope they can welcome smaller crowds as early as October

Discussions have reportedly taken place over allowing crowds capped at 25 per cent capacity

The push for the proposals is believed to be mainly coming from the EFL, with many clubs across League One and Two – as well as the National League – typically attracting less than full capacity attendances.

Clubs able to allow in a quarter of their stadium’s full capacity would generate revenue, while spectators would also be able to adhere to social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of the disease.

A couple of Championship outfits are said to be supportive of the concept too.

Those who welcome larger crowds for their fixtures would be faced with a dilemma, however, due to the potential selective nature of smaller crowds.

The push for the proposal is reportedly mainly coming from the EFL and the National League

Premier League teams may also be able to implement the scheme – although it may fail to receive sufficient backing and could prove difficult to organise for the larger venues on display in the top flight.

The Sun report that the idea has also been discussed in Scotland, due to the nation’s larger clubs attracting smaller crowds in comparison to their peers in England.

The global health emergency has thrown the world of sport into chaos, with several parties unsure of when crowds will be allowed to physically attend games.

Clubs are resigned to seeing out the rest of the current campaign behind closed doors and the Premier League’s medical director, Mark Gillett, recently admitted grounds may remain empty for another year.

The Premier League’s medical director recently admitted grounds may stay empty for a year

‘I’ve sat on the DCMS group [directing the return of elite sport] with a very high level of medical input from Public Health England and the chief medical officers department,’ he said.

‘They’ve made it very clear that the social situation, the public health situation, is not going to change over the next six to 12 months.

‘Regardless of the timing of this type of conversation we’re going to be looking to make the same kind of cultural changes… whether we have this conversation now or at any point this year. It is important that people understand that.’
