Pearl Mackie and Matt Lucas make epic return to Doctor Who as Bills Potts and Nardole – The Sun

PEARL Mackie and Matt Lucas will still make epic return to our screens this weekend on Doctor Who.
The BBC delighted viewers when they started to replay old episodes of the much-loved show during lockdown and this Saturday was supposed to conclude with the two actors in World Enough and Time and The Doctor Falls.

However Emily Cook from Doctor Who Magazine revealed that the tweetalong – which would have had stars and crew from the show’s history providing running narratives on social media – has been cancelled due to not feeling like the right time to air it amid the Black Lives Matter protests all around the world.

She said: "After careful consideration, out of respect for the feelings of Doctor Who fans around the world, we won't be going ahead with the tweetalong this weekend.

"It doesn't appropriate at this time."

But it's not all bad news for Doctor Who fans as they have created a new scene for viewers to enjoying that include the Little Britain star returning as Nardole, and Pearle as Bill Potts.

You can still take part in a separate watchalong series this weekend which has been organised by Black Girls Create.

From 8pm BST/3pm EST/12pm PST you can watch back-to-back screenings of some of the best episodes to date: The Ghost Monument, The Haunting of Villa Diodati, Thin Ice and Knock Knock.

Last Saturday fans were treated to a double bill of episodes – New Earth and Gridlock.

Russell T Davies, one of the former show bosses, is set to release a short story which could finally answer the recurring question of whether the Face of Boe is in fact a future incarnation of Captain Jack Harkness, played by John Barrowman.

He promises that the tale would feature a “secret that must be told,” so no doubt many fans will have their finger crossed.

It wouldn’t be the first bombshell dropped in newly-written material released during lockdown.

Davies previously revealed the fate of the Autons in the wake of beloved episode Rose.

He also confirmed that The Sarah Jane Adventures' Luke Smith eventually escaped with Sanjay.

It’s not just spin-off adventures that are in development though – current show runner Chris Chibnall has confirmed that work on season 13 is well underway.

While the show remains unable to begin filming due to ongoing social distancing measures, he assured fans in Doctor Who Magazine that "stories are forming" and "plans continue to be hatched."

Fortunately Christmas special episode Revolution of the Daleks has already been filmed, meaning it will be released on schedule.

Watch Doctor Who on BBC at 8pm this Saturday.

Lizzo, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez Invite Black Organizations to Take Over Their Instagrams

Celebrities are using their platforms to propel the voices of the Black community amid the nationwide Black Lives Matter protests.

Lizzo announced yesterday that she would be hosting a livestream chat with the Black Visions Collective, a Minnesota-based organization that focuses its work on transformative justice and Black liberation. “I believe in using my platform to give others the chance to speak,” Lizzo captioned her announcement. “Join me tomorrow at 1pm PST/3pm CT to talk with @blackvisionscollective in Minneapolis to learn more about what’s happening in the heart of the protest, and how we can help. ✊🏾🥰”

Lady Gaga is also offering activists her Instagram account for takeovers. In a post also shared yesterday, she announced, “Starting tomorrow, I’m giving over my Instagram account to each of the organizations I’ve recently donated to, in an effort to amplify their important voices. And after I vow to regularly, in perpetuity, across all of my social media platforms, post stories, content, and otherwise lift up the voices of the countless inspiring members and groups within the Black community.”

Further, Selena Gomez also said that she would be loaning her platform to “influential leaders.” In a post shared yesterday, she wrote, “I have been struggling to know the right things to say to get the word out about this important moment in history. After thinking about how best to use my social media, I decided that we all need to hear more from Black voices. Over the next few days I will be highlighting influential leaders and giving them a chance to take over my Instagram so that they can speak directly to all of us. We all have an obligation to do better and we can start by listening with an open heart and mind.”

Protests against the police have erupted after the killing of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man who died after an officer kneeled on his neck until he couldn’t breathe for several minutes. Since, protestors have honored the lives of other Black people who died at the hands of the police, including Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, and countless others.

Game of Thrones and Friends toppled by Looney Tunes as most popular show on HBO just one week after launch – The Sun

GAME of Thrones has been knocked off its perch as HBO’s most-watched show – by cartoons, no less.

Despite being arguably the most talked-about TV series of the past decade, the popular fantasy series was not the most streamed programme on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service in its first week.

Instead the most-watched show on HBO Max after week one was Looney Toons Cartoons – a modern reboot of the iconic Bugs Bunny-starring animated shorts.

The series drew 16.5 times the demand of the average TV show, according to audience research firm Parrot Analytics.

It found Looney Toons Cartoons even exceeded Apple TV+’s big budget sci-fi original See – the most in-demand show on the platform in its first four days – and was almost five times more in demand than Quibi’s most popular show Chrissy’s Court.

Perhaps surprisingly, Game of Thrones did not even feature in the top five most-watched programmes on the platform.

The second most-watched show initially was The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo.

The HBO Max original is a send-up of US television’s late-night chat shows, starring the much-loved Sesame Street character.

But this was soon passed by Anna Kendrick’s rom-com Love Life, which has gone on to be the second most in-demand HBO Max programme, with nine times as many viewers as an average show.

However, Looney Tunes pales in comparison to the launch of Disney+ and it’s hit sci-fi western The Mandalorian, which in its first four days drew a staggering 46.1 times the demand of an average show.

But while audiences seem to be enjoying HBO Max’s family-friendly content, industry reaction has generally been less positive.

Analysts at US firm MoffettNathanson described the WarnerMedia channel as “chaotic” with a “mess” of brands.

Rahul Patel, an analyst at Ampere, added: “The branding is certainly less clear-cut than in the case of Disney, where its individual production assets have historically been more closely aligned to the studio in branding terms.

“This manifests in two main ways – clarifying the breadth of content on the service, and clarifying the differentiation from historic VOD services run by Warner – and has resulted in Warner making recent efforts to clarify the distinction between HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO Max.”

Rudy Giuliani and Piers Morgan have heated on-air exchange over Trump

Rudy Giuliani and “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan got into a heated and loud exchange on Thursday during an interview about whether President Trump used racist language in remarks about the outbreaks of looting during the George Floyd protests.

The former Big Apple mayor, appearing on the show from New York blamed the “left-wing media” for misinterpreting Trump’s comments on twitter that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”

The phrase was associated with Miami Police Chief Walter Headley who used the phrase to warn rioters in 1967. Morgan said Trump’s using the words of a racist was not intended to calm the situation.

“He didn’t quote here. He used that expression probably not knowing where it came from,” Giuliani said and blamed the “left wing progressive Democrat” mayor of Minneapolis for allowing things to spiral out of control.

Morgan tried to press Giuliani but the former mayor continued on.

“I’m up here at 1 o’clock in the morning to answer your questions. I would think you’d give me the courtesy of credit. I know you don’t like my answers, but I think you’d give me the courtesy of giving them,” Giuliani said.

Morgan then said Giuliani was talking “claptrap.”

Moments later, Morgan asked Giuliani why he was giving Trump a pass by saying the president didn’t know where the quote came from.

“Because I’ve known him for 30 years, and I know he’s a fair man who doesn’t have a racist bone in his body,” Giuliani responded.

The two continued to interrupt each other as they squabbled over who was spreading political propaganda and their voices continued to rise.

Giuliani said Trump was just stating the truth, that “if you start looting, people are going to start shooting, they’re going to kill people and they have killed people. And you don’t cover it because you’re a bunch of phonies.”

Morgan shot back: “You’ve lost the plot and it’s sad to see.”

Moments later, Morgan cut off the interview, saying “you sound completely barking mad.”

Why Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Are Reportedly on 'Different Pages' During Quarantine

How are Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West handling the isolation of coronavirus (COVID-19) and social distancing? According to one source they are on “different pages” at the moment in how they are spending their time during the quarantine.

There were reports the couple had been fighting

The coronavirus pandemic and necessary social distancing requirements made things tense for many households and, according to previous reports, that was no different for Kim and Kanye.

“Kim feels like she needs some space from Kanye,” one insider told Us Weekly in May. “She’s trying to be a great mom, focus on law school and her work commitments and it’s hard to do all of this without Kanye helping as much as he can.”

The source further shared that despite any differences they were reportedly having, “They’ve had more time together to talk about their feelings, about the kids, her law career goals and his business ideas.”

“She’s trying to keep her family together, especially forthe kids’ sake,” the insider claimed.

Prior to that, in April, there were also reports that there was some tension, with an insider sharing with Us Weekly at the time, “Kim and Kanye have been arguing a lot during the quarantine. Kanye is really getting on Kim’s nerves.”

Their days play out differently for each of them

In a new Us Weekly report, a source shared that the couple don’t keep the same schedule, with Kim more likely to work out in the morning and Kanye getting up late to start his day.

“Sometimes they are on different pages,” the sourceexplained. “She gets up early and works out and he is up late.”

The reality star is reportedly using the time to have a more structured routine. “Kim is working out nonstop and doing her thing,” the source noted. “Kanye is having a harder time because he does not have a regimented routine like Kim.”

They’re ‘doing well’ and finding ways to entertain themselves

Though Kim and Kanye may be “on different pages” at the moment, the source assured they “are doing well,” with Kanye providing his wife “some time to herself and to unwind.”

Kim made some reference to how they were occupying their time during quarantine when she sat down for an interview in March on The Tonight Show Starring Jimy Fallon. Kim said she was hiding from her kids for the interview so she could have some time away from the chaos, which included kid forts, projects, and homeschooling.

When Fallon asked what kinds of shows or movies they had been watching, Kim said that Kanye had watched everything and “is now into foreign films,” adding that “he’ll stay up all night watching movies.”

She, on the other hand, said she was exposing her kids to some old-school favorites, like Harry and the Hendersons and other 80s movies that she grew up on. She said her kids were “loving” the old movies.

She wrote: ‘So easy to post a black square. I’m seeing people who haven’t posted in YEARS come on to post a black square.

The Twilight alum slicked her blonde tresses in a half-up, half-down updo, as she cut a bandit chic look.

The other sign supported saving a 100-year-old African-American landmark – First Baptist Church of Venice – which Jay Penske bought for $6.3M and plans on rebuilding as multi-family family home. (The church relocated to another venue prior to the sale.)

Affleck and de Armas were easily able to ride to the protest on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which they’ve been spotted on two days in a row now.

Jaime donned an ‘I am a voter’ tee and had her arm wrapped around a fellow protester’s shoulders as they paraded up and down the Mayor’s affluent street.

Protesters chanted ‘Defund The Police’ and wielded various homemade signs throughout the duration of the peaceful demonstration.

King’s bleach blonde hair looked noticeably undone and she donned a medical grade face mask.

She paired her statement t-shirt with a pair of black skinny jeans and some white trainers.

Out and about: Like Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, who were also in attendance, neither Paul or Canseco properly covered their mouths or noses, despite coming in close contact with other protestors

Cara Delevingne was another famous face who joined crowds to march. The 27-year-old model shared snaps of herself and the crowd she marched with to her Instagram stories.

Big Sean posted a heartfelt video Tuesday to Instagram after joining the protests.

Paving the way: ‘It’s my hope today you are taking the time to do some introspective thinking about how we can all come together and listen to one another with an open heart and mind,’ she began

On board: And over on Selena’s Rare Beauty Instagram pages, they partook in the social media movement of posting a black tile with a similar message

‘And justice has to be served. Period. And if it’s not, I don’t think things are going to change or get better. I know I been protesting, I know a lot of us been out in the streets protesting, and it’s been a lot of unity, but I also see a lot of people with ulterior motives that look like undercover cops.’

The video comes amid reports of police and white supremacists inciting riots amid otherwise peaceful protests.

He added: ‘I don’t know if they are undercover cops, but like, you know, starting a lot of the conflict, a lot of the issues. And we’ve all seen places where they’ve got them bricks conveniently located to wreak havoc, and I don’t know what the ulterior motive is.

Fury: Kelly Clarkson expressed outrage at an incident captured on camera in Kansas City where police arrested a black man as he yelled at them while peacefully protesting along with others

No way: The singer and TV personality, 38, had previously tweeted at the weekend: ‘For cryin out loud this is the year 2020! Can we please learn from our past and finally progress as a nation?’

‘I don’t know if it’s to make us look like we wild beasts or don’t have control, but we clearly are not wild beasts. We’re extraordinary, talented magical people that if you took us out of the equation, the world would be very, very bland.’

Sean then went into the slavery-rooted police brutality against black people ‘to capture, apprehend, beat, discipline slaves, rip them apart from their families, keep them apart and god knows whatever else.’

He continued: ‘You wanna talk about land of equality and freedom? I don’t feel equal, and I don’t feel free. Of course, let’s speak up and be heard, but things have to change.

Thousands of protesters marched the streets of Hollywood on Tuesday where they were met by varying degrees of law enforcement from the LAPD to the National Guard, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have scored 110 hat-tricks combined in their careers – and Portuguese leads 56-54 – The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO and Lionel Messi have been engaged in ‘super-star wars’ for more than a decade – but perhaps they should be known as the treble alliance.

The two icons of modern football have scored a ridiculous 110 hat-tricks for club and country in their glorious careers.

Many of those have been Solo efforts – and there has been plenty of Enterprise on display.

Messi was the first of the pair to hit a professional hat-trick, doing it on one of the biggest stages in world football… El Clasico.

He put Real Madrid to the sword on March 10, 2007 and they have been sick of the sight of Barcelona’s little Argentine ever since.

Ronaldo’s first treble did not arrive for another ten months, coming for Manchester United against Newcastle on January 13, 2008.

However, despite netting his maiden one later, the Portuguese now leads his rival when it comes to career hat-tricks.

Ronaldo has 56 to Messi’s 54.

The Juventus star has taken advantage of a spot of good fortune as 29 of his hat-tricks – more than half – include penalties, whereas his perennial Ballon d’Or rival only has 14 that include spot-kicks.

But Ronaldo has netted a perfect hat-trick – right foot, left foot, header – doing so for Real Madrid against Getafe in 2013.

Messi was simply three-mendous in 2011/12, netting an astonishing 12 hat-tricks.

Ronaldo scored seven himself that season but was on Cloud Nine in 2014/15 – he netted nine hat-tricks in the campaign, his best so far.

And the pair do not tend to stop at just three, either.

Ronaldo has scored four in a match eight times in his career, with Messi trailing slightly with a ‘mere’ six quadruple hauls.

And, appropriately for the game’s two biggest names, they have both put in five-star performances.

Messi hit FIVE for Barcelona against Bayer Leverkusen in a Champions League rout in 2012 – but Ronaldo has gone one better.

He has netted five goals in a game twice, both for Real Madrid, against Espanyol and Granada.

They have both been at it this season, as well.

Messi's most recent treble came in February this year, when he scored four against Eibar, while Ronaldo netted his against Cagliari in January.

When it comes to scoring hat-tricks, these superstars are in another galaxy far, far away from any other current player.

Twilight star and girlfriend died after taking cocaine and fentanyl

Twilight star Gregory Tyree Boyce and his girlfriend, 27, died after taking cocaine and fentanyl, coroner confirms

  • Gregory Tyree Boyce 30, and Natalie Adepoju, 27, were found dead in Las Vegas
  • They were found lying naked next to white powdery substance by roommate
  • Coroner John Fudenberg said the pair died from effects of cocaine and fentanyl

Twilight star Gregory Tyree Boyce and his girlfriend died after taking cocaine and fentanyl, a Las Vegas coroner found.

Boyce, 30, and his partner Natalie Adepoju, 27, were found dead next to white powdery substance inside the bedroom of their Las Vegas home by their roommate, Louis Ledbetter, on May 13.

Officers said the couple – who were found lying naked – were ‘beyond help’ by the time the tragic discovery was made.

Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said the pair died from the effects of cocaine and fentanyl intoxication and their deaths were accidental.

Fentanyl has been blamed for illegal-use drug overdose deaths nationwide.

Ledbetter told police he’d last seen the couple alive 48 hours before he found them.

The 33-year-old said he’d woken up in the afternoon of May 13 having worked a night shift the previous evening to find the couple’s bedroom door closed.

Presuming they were out of the apartment, Ledbetter left the condo to return to work just after 2.30pm when he noticed the couple’s car was still in the driveway.

Concerned, he knocked on their bedroom door and, after receiving no response, he forced his way into the room to find them both dead.

Boyce, 30, and Adepoju, 27, (pictured) were found dead next to white powdery substance inside the bedroom of their Las Vegas home by their roommate, Louis Ledbetter, on May 13

According to a police report observed by DailyMail.com, next to their bodies officers found a unknown white powder substance on a nightstand, in addition to a straw and a plastic card.

Investigators said the couple appeared to be ‘deceased for some time’ when they arrived at property on Casey Drive on the evening of May 13.

There were no ‘signs of trauma to either subject’ and the bedroom was undisturbed, officers noted.

Both Boyce and Adepoju were found lying naked on their backs in bed.

Boyce was best known for his role as Tyler Crowley in the first Twilight franchise movie in 2008

In the film, he almost crashed into Kristen Stewart’s character Bella Swan (above) with a car before she was saved by Robert Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen

Investigators said each body showed signs of rigor mortis and blood pooling, indicating they’d been deceased for some time.

Boyce was best known for his role as Tyler Crowley in the first Twilight franchise movie in 2008. In the film, he almost crashed into Kristen Stewart’s character Bella Swan with a car before she was saved by Robert Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen.

Boyce, who also appeared in the film short Apocalypse in 2018, had a 10-year-old daughter Alaya and his girlfriend had a young son called Egypt from a previous relationship.

The couple, who had been dating for about a year, were found dead in their condo on May 13 after Boyce’s cousin noticed the actor’s car in the driveway when he was supposed to have been in Los Angeles

His brother Chris Wayne described him as an ‘awesome person’.

In a tribute on Facebook, he wrote: ‘You were my baby. Worried about you all the time.

‘I was always there for the rescue. I wish you were still here bro. The world lost an awesome person.’

In an Instagram post from December when Boyce celebrated his 30th birthday, the actor wrote that he didn’t think he’d ever reach the milestone age.

‘At one point I didn’t think I would make it to see 30 years old,’ he wrote.

The official cause of their deaths has not yet been released but law enforcement have said it was not criminal. They are pictured together in a 2019 Instagram post

‘Over the years like everyone else I have made mistakes along the way, but today is one of those days I only reflect on the great ones. What a time to be alive. Happy Dirty 30 self! Let’s make the rest of these years your best!!’

Boyce had moved to Las Vegas to help his mother but would commute to Los Angeles for acting roles and to see his daughter.

Boyce and his girlfriend were last featured together on his Instagram page when he wished Adepoju a Happy Mother’s Day.

‘Happy Mother’s Day again to my right hand/ my roll dog/ my Queen! Love you,’ he wrote.

In a statement on GoFundMe page set up for Adepoju, she was remembered as a ‘loving daughter, niece, sister, cousin, and friend’.
