You can stay in a Harry Potter cottage that looks like a Gryffindor dormitory

Potterheads can live out their ultimate Hogwarts fantasies on their next trip away.

A UK holiday cottage inspired by the Gryffindor common room is available to book.

Modelled on the dormitories from JK Rowling’s hit books, the magical home features six handmade wooden four-poster beds, a lounge area that’s been designed to look like the students’ common room and a crackling fireplace.

Even the bathroom has stained glass windows with an image of a mermaid from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

There’s room for six – so it’s perfect for the current coronavirus restrictions as well. The house also comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including a fridge, freezer, dual hob and microwave, as well as crockery, utensils and glassware – to assist guests with self catering.

The property is part of the The North Shire in Liverton, which is a collection of enchanting cottages located in North Yorkshire – and The Dorm Room is the name of the one which replicates the dorms in the wizarding world.

Business entrepreneur and designer Carol Cavendish is behind the wonderful cottages – she opened the site in 2010.

It’s worth pointing out that it’s a two-night minimum booking – although by the looks of it, you’ll probably want to stay longer. Prices start from £300 per night, which is £50 per person for every night.

North Shire is also running a competition for groups to win a three-night stay at the Potter-themed property over New Year.

They said: ‘To celebrate the launch of our newest magical accommodation North shire are offering you the chance to win a truly magical 3 night break away over New Year.

‘See the new year in in style in the North Shire dorm, with 6 single four poster beds a cosy lounge with inglenook fireplace and a truly special and magical bathroom. Set up to self cater for 6 people with plenty of private parking on site.

‘Visit local pirate Town Whitby and dine on the world’s best award-winning fish and chips you can even set sail on a pirate ship or, if you’re lucky, catch a steam train across the beautiful North Yorkshire moors

‘Or you can simply cosy up with a tasty hot chocolate by the fireplace and play board games. With plenty to see and do you are certain to have a truly wonderful stay at North Shire.’
