Who is snooker player Mark Allen's ex girlfriend Reanne Evans?
MARK ALLEN is currently riding high in the snooker world rankings.
The Northern Irishman – known as The Pistol – is the world No13 and has been in action at the 2021 World Championships in Sheffield this week.
Allen crashed out in the second round after defeat to Mark Selby but hit the headlines after allegedly calling pundit and ex-partner Reanna Evans a 'distraction'.
Who is Reanna Evans?
The reigning Women's World Snooker champion, Reanna was born in Dudley in 1985.
She began playing snooker aged 13 and proved to be a prolific winner, at one stage triumphing in 61 consecutive matches.
Reanna has won the Women's Snooker World title twelve times and in 2010 won a wildcard to play on the professional circuit.
And two years later at the Wuxi Classic in China, she became the first woman to reach the final stages of a ranking snooker tournament.
Evans was in a relationship with Mark Allen between 2005 and 2008, with the pair having a daughter called Lauren in 2006.
Reanna was given an MBE in the 2020 Birthday honours list for services to women's snooker.
Why did she have to leave BBC studio?
During the 2021 World Championships at the Crucible, Allen complained that Evans was a 'distraction' as she prepared to be a pundit for the women's tournament.
Evans reluctantly agreed to leave after talks between World Snooker Tour officials at the Betfred World Snooker Championship and her producers.
The pair are currently battling over maintenance for their daughter and Evans was said to be 'embarrassed' by the episode.
The BBC said: “For the sake of ten minutes, Reanne left the players’ practice room so Mark Allen could practise before his match without distraction upon his request.
"Her broadcast commitments weren’t affected.”
Allen had made his plea before his first-round win in Sheffield over China’s Lyu Haotian, but crashed out in the next round against No4 ranked Selby.
