Christmas is on the horizon, which means that Christmas shopping is in the nearer distance.

You may think that this is a bit of an overstretch, considering it is still only October, but as we all know the next few months seem to speed along as fast as Santa’s sleigh.

Besides, with the way 2020 is going we may as well have something to look forward to.

But the demographic that of course looks forward to Christmas the most is children, yet if you're in charge of Santa's yearly output it can be a task to find items that they will really love.

After all, you don't want any disappointed little faces under the tree come 25 December.

Well, to make sure you're ahead of the (socially distant) shop stampede this year, why not head to Sainsbury's, as their hotly anticipated half-price toy sale is now upon us.

It is taking place across the famed supermarkets larger stores, beginning on 14 October, and it's expected to last for one week.

The sale sees around 1,000 toys reduced from some of the biggest kids brands that the store stocks.

This includes Barbie, Disney, Kindi Kids, LEGO, Nerf, Frozen, Hot Wheels, Peppa Pig, Jurassic Park, Marvel and many more.

It has become an annual event, however this year the organiser kept shtum about when the start date was to be, until a couple of weeks ago.

And if half price toys aren't enough to get you excited, Aldi have also revealed their 2020 Christmas range.

The collection includes many things, but the item that has really got us excited is a wine advents calendar… now THAT is the sort of Christmas countdown that we could lap up.
