Paul Chuckle to release house music track after recording single in lockdown
To Me, To U2 – Paul Chuckle is on track to become a pop star.
The comedy legend, real name Paul Elliot, secretly recorded a single during lockdown and is hoping it will make waves on the house music scene.
Industry insiders are already tipping it to be the "anthem of the summer".
Revealing his plans to be top of the pops, the 73-year-old said: "I am working in the studio with the music producer Clint Hills on an exclusive house music track, It’s The Only Way. Watch this space…"
Record label bosses are hoping the song will be a hit with the millions of Britons who grew up watching Paul on ChuckleVision alongside his brother Barry, who died in 2017.
The comedy ran for 21 series and was voted the best CBBC show of all time.
Paul has already lined up his first high-profile gig. The TV fave will be headlining at Pontins holiday park in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, in September.
Other stars on the bill include Charlotte Church, Nadine Coyle, Basshunter and Black Lace.
Organisers for other events are also said to be keen to get Paul on board. He has already got some music experience under his belt.
In 1995, he and the late Barry released an album To Me, To You – named after their famous catchphrase.
And in 2014 they worked with rapper Tinchy Stryder on a charity single.
It was reported earlier this year that Paul is selling coronavirus face masks with he and late brother them with an hilarious play on their famous catchphrase.
He has taken to the site Etsy to sell black masks with a picture of he and Barry on them along with the slogan "2 Metres U".
The phrase is a nod their iconic phrase "To me, to you," which the pair said frequently in their act together.
Almost three years later and Paul is showing no signs of letting his brother Barry's memory die. The masks have been priced at £10.
It's no wonder Paul has jumped on the mask trend, after the star himself battled the coronavirus last March.
