    BRIGHTON STATS

Brighton are 16th in the Premier League table with six points separating them from the relegation zone.

The Seagulls have won seven and lost 11 out of a total of 29 league matches throughout the season – Graham Potter's men and Newcastle have amassed the least amount of wins out of any team in the top flight currently outside of the relegation zone.

If the Albion win tonight then that will mark the first time they prevail in three consecutive Premier League games since October 2018.

Brighton are facing a daunting task against United – a team they have never beaten away – but they have won three of their last five Premier League games on the road, losing once in the process

    UNITED STATS

Manchester United are second in the Premier League table with 17 points separating them from rivals Manchester City and first place.

United have won 16 and lost four out of a total of 29 league matches, meaning the Red Devils have amassed the third highest tally of wins and second lowest amount of defeats than any other team in the top flight.

The hosts have also scored a total of 56 goals and conceded 32, which is the second best record behind City in the Premier League.

United are looking to keep five consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time since August 2017 when Jose Mourinho was in charge

    HEAD-TO-HEAD

Manchester United and Brighton's first ever encounter took place way back in 1909 in an FA Cup match in Manchester that the hosts won 1-0.

Since then, the two sides have faced off a total of 25 times with United picking up a majority of 17 victories, compared to the Seagulls' three.

But the Albion haven't been able to beat the Red Devils since August 2018 when they won with a score of 3-2 at the Amex Stadium – the Manchester giants prevailed in all five games after that, scoring exactly three goals in each of the last four.

In fact, Brighton have never been able to beat United at Old Trafford in all of their 14 visits, 11 of which they lost in the process

    GOOD EVENING FROM MANCHESTER

Welcome to our live coverage of the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Brighton at Old Trafford.

United and the Seagulls are set to return to action following the recent international break as the season is slowly coming to a close.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to confirm who will be starting between the sticks at the Theatre of Dreams with Dean Henderson filling in for the last six matches after David de Gea returned to Spain for the birth of his first child.

Anthony Martial may have to miss tonight's game due to a knee injury he picked up while on international duty with France while Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are both doubts after pulling out of the England senior and under-21 squads respectively.

Victor Lindelof missed training on Friday due to an ongoing back problem whereas Paul Pogba is in line to return to action following a two-month absence.

Brighton manager Graham Potter, on the other hand, may be set for a boost as Aaron Connolly trained with the rest of the squad after being substituted playing for the Republic of Ireland against Serbia last week.

However, Adam Webster has been ruled out because of an ankle problem while Tariq Lamptey and Solly March are out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring and knee injury respectively
