Kate Winslet, 45, had an interest in acting from a very young age and studied drama at the Redroofs Theatre School. She went on to make her first appearance at the age of just 15, with her role in British television series Dark Season. How much has she earned throughout the years?

The actress first established herself as an actress who specialised in period films, but has since branded out to a number of other genres.

These include The Reader, Contagion as well as Divergent and Nevertheless.

She also appeared in The Holiday and Finding Neverland, two hugely successful films.

Outside of film, Kate has also made a name for herself in television roles with shows like Extras and Mildred Pierce.

She has worn many awards for her career, including an Emmy, a Grammy as well as an Academy Award to name a few.

Shortly after her Titanic role, the actress bought a property in the Cornish village of Angarrack, where she purchased a home for £200,000 before selling it three years later.

She also had a property in Treyford which was valued at £2million in 2014, before purchasing another in West Sussex for £3.3million.

Over in the US, she has a penthouse in New York City’s Chelsea neighbourhood which was listed for sale in December 2020 for £4.5million.

In her personal life, the actress was married to director Jim Therapleton from 1998 to 2001 and the couple have one daughter together. 

Kate then married director Sam Mendes in 2003 before divorcing in 2011, the couple have a son.

In 2012, she married Richard Branson’s nephew, Edward Smith, and the couple also have one son.
