Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge took a break from their royal duties over the summer. But since their return to work, the Cambridge’s have been out and about on several royal outings, which have included trips around the UK and star-studded red carpet events.

Kate and William walked the red carpet for the premiere of the new James Bond movie, No Time To Die, last month in London.

The couple also recently dressed up for the inaugural Earthshot Prize awards, the Cambridge’s initiative to help find solutions to the climate crisis.

Kate and William also visited Northern Ireland, and have completed several solo engagements for their chosen patronages in recent weeks.

According to a body language expert, there have been several changes to Kate and William’s behaviour on recent outings.

In Kate’s case, it seems that the Duchess’ confidence has grown significantly while at events.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James said: “Kate’s confidence signals have grown recently and one telling trait is the way she will appear at events empty-handed.

“The signature clutch bag is more than just a practical accessory, it has also given Kate something to do with her hands and an ‘excuse’ to form comfort barriers as she holds it in front of her torso.

“Empty-handed though, she will now arrive with her arms hanging at her sides in an expression of enhanced self-esteem.

“When she does carry a bag she is more likely to hold it in one hand at her side.

“She will often lead slightly at an event with William and it is often him who will be using a jacket or finger-fiddle ritual or small signs of ongoing shyness.”

In addition to Kate’s growing confidence, the couple also seems to be more willing to show affection in public.

Ms James added: “There are also signs that the couple are now happy to share some of their more intimate moments and subtle PDAs with the fans.

“Their mirroring has always defined them as a very like-minded team but now we can see glimpses of their eye-engage rituals and subtle touches that hint at the strong bonds of affection between them, too.”

Next week, Kate and William will be part of the royal party at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.

The long-awaited conference will feature several world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who will discuss solutions to the climate crisis.

The Queen was expected to attend the conference, but it was announced this week the monarch will not be attending due to medical advice.

In her absence, Kate, William, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will be present at the summit.

Prince Charles will also be making the summit’s opening address, Clarence House has confirmed.
