Jorge Masvidal drinks own branded Mezcal as he gets private jet home after UFC 251 loss and says 'salud to making money'

JORGE MASVIDAL drank his own branded alcohol as he moved past his crushing UFC 251 loss by saying: "Salud to making money."

Gamebred failed to dethrone welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at the Abu Dhabi venue on Saturday.

But the American didn't seem too down about the defeat as he jetted back to the United States with his cornermen.

In a video posted on Instagram, Masvidal poured out shots of his own branded Recuerdo Mezcal.

The BMF king had followed Conor McGregor into the alcohol business earlier this year by launching two varieties of the Mexican spirit.

He said: "Salud to making money. We have a saying in Spanish. In good times, Mezcal and in bad times, Mezcal.

"It didn't go a hundred per cent part of the plan but we did leave with a big part of the plan. A big chunk of the plan."

Masvidal was toasting what he felt he deserved just a month after he had threatened to quit the UFC following a pay row with the promotion.

The 35-year-old claimed he was only offered half of the £400,000 earned against Nate Diaz to face welterweight champion Usman.

He was eventually offered the same purse, but rejected it, instead wanting an increase to challenge for the belt.

Gilbert Burns was then handed the fight against Usman until he was ruled out following a positive coronavirus test.

Following last-gasp talks to salvage the main-event, Masvidal agreed to step in on six-days notice.

Though he was suffocated and outwrestled on route to a unanimous points loss to Welterweight champ Usman.

He immediately challenged the Nigerian Nightmare to a rematch as the two exchanged words after the fight.
