DIY fan makes epic Grinch-inspired Christmas tree for just £35

The countdown to Christmas is officially on and one movie that is a must watch each year is Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The 2000 hit film is based on Dr. Seuss' picture book and has become a firm favourite with Christmas lovers everywhere.

In fact, one woman is such a huge fan that she decided to make her very own Grinch-themed festive tree.

Taking to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, Laura Barrie shared snaps of her Christmas set up and fellow DIY enthusiasts were certainly impressed.

Laura captioned the post: "Decided to make my own Grinch tree.

"Grinch mask and hands from Amazon £12. Decorations from Poundland, Asda and B&M. Cost me around £35 to make."

"I stuffed the mask, hands and Santa coat and took branches from the back of the tree and added it to the top to make it bend over. Not everyone’s taste but we love it," she added.

Fellow Facebook users were quick to comment on the photos, with many complimenting Laura's efforts.

"How cool is this!" one person wrote, while another added: "Love it and made me laugh so thank you."

A third person commented: "AMAZING… we love the Grinch. Great tree. Enjoy!" and a fourth said: "Wow that tree is a belter… I love it."

Clearly not expecting such a wonderful response, Laura later added: "WOW I’m overwhelmed with everyone’s super nice comments.

"Can’t keep up with the comments to thank you all."

The Grinch tree comes after another woman shared snaps of her Toy Story themed display.

Lucy Edmonson, 36, from North Wales, and her Pixar obsessed kids have been collecting decorations and making ornaments to create a stunning Toy Story tree.

The mum posted the photo in the Facebook group Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas and her snap has already totted up 27,000 likes and 5,000 comments.
